Swapping Grab Rails

I want to swap my Tourer grab rails for a set of I'state grab rails. Any suggestions?

My first look says remove saddle bags, then 2 bolts and the upper shock mount. Will 1 shock (other side) hold the position of the frame and swing arm allowing the shock's upper bolt to be replaced?

I'd want to put my bike on the jack and lift it to where
the rear wheel is just barely touching the floor... that's
the place where the shocks are neither in tension or compression.

As Mike posted. It’s easier with the bike on the lift. No problem removing or installing one shock at a time even with the rear wheel off the floor completely.
