The air horn for motorcycles. Does anyone have one of these? They are currently $70 off and I like what I see, chrome and everything is included and can run off the stock horn button. I just wondered if anyone had firsthand experience and perhaps a picture of where/how you mounted it. I have an idea or two…

I have no experience with MotoHorn.

I skimmed read a little about them. I think I read you needed a relay with 12 awg wire. I would use the horn wires to run the relay (at least a 30 amps one).

Don't know about these.  I've good results with rivco.  They even sold me just a low horn, when it failed after several years

Overpriced...crap just re-branded.

IMO you're better off with a quality pair of Hella or Fiamm horns off of Amazon for $40.
Do the relay mod and run both (which is what I have)... both sets are toned at a different frequency and the discordance gets attention.

I had an airhorn, but switched to the MotoHorn Dual Track. It is a pair of Hi/Lo horns that is much louder than the airhorn I had.
I made a relay harness to keep maximum current and sound and take the load off of the horn switch. MotoHorn sells a relay harness kit for about $27. I just built my own. Here is a pic of the horns on the bike and the relay schematic.

Nope, it is a trike with 8 degree rake.
I also have a car horn on my Tourer with no problem. It has a TBR chrome tripple tree which doesn't change the rake, but moves the forks forward a bit.

Haven't checked it with a stock setup, but there re other places to mount horns. Big BF put them under the bike.

Having rarely ever used a MC horn, I've always just stuck with what came on the bike (meep meep).

I can't remember the last time I used a Valk horn, or if they even still work.

I rarely have ever used vehicle horns either, except maybe to say hi driving by a neighbor .

I don't use horns, but I'm a very defensive rider/driver.

I understand the idea of loud horns.  And everyone should do what they want.

Well this is all great information. I had my sights set on the air horn but not I’m not so sure. I’m liking the  dual-trac for the convenience of more mounting locations vs a 17.5” air horn. But I like the sound of an air horn, I’m a CDL holder and I use that horn and love trains and the sounds they bellow out so…
Now you got me thinking about how much I’d use the horn. I never do but it’s because bike horns are pathetic sounding. Would I use a loud one more? I don’t really know. I try not to ride into situations I’m going need a horn but there’s always some daydreaming idiot popping out of nowhere. The Rivco options look great but they are too proud of them for me to pay that kinda money. I’ll have to do more contemplating. Thanks for your input everyone.

I should just put my money away and be happy with the Metzler Cruisetechs I’m halfway through mounting/balancing. I will give my thoughts on them when it gets nicer and I can ride!

 I am like Jess, rarely use or have to use my horn.  Normally check it out when out away from folks.  When I got my Valk, she had the original horn plus two car horns mounted beside the original.  Together they do make a reasonable loud noise.   

I have used my horns many times persuading critters, mostly deer, they don't need to cross in front of me.  Though I did shake up a lady who was beside me not to change into my lane once. 

I do very little "city" riding, usually less than 5 minutes on any ride I do.

Loudest bike horn I've ever heard is on my F6B and I "think" it's stock - more research req'd

 I'm set up similar to Mooskee. I have Motohorn dualtrac mounted on my engine guard. Mine are spread out farther so they don't rub. I had to take one off at Debuque Inzane becouse of rubbing. I don't remember who showed me they were when I was in the garage parking looking for the noise I had been hearing. I like the motohorn's dual tone better than the pair of Wolo air horns I had on before that.

This is my setup, I  have horns mounted underneath bike on the jack stand accessory that mounts to bike, out of sight.  (Had to drill mounting holes for horn brackets)
Easy to wire from the battery area wires drop down to the horns, plug and play.  Horns come with 12v relay which is mounted at the battery box.
You will have to fish one wire from your horn button to the relay to operate relay.  It's very loud and I left the factory horn hooked up also, three horns total.
$21.59 @  Amazon plus the cost of a wire from your horn button to relay.

My Interstate has that 4-horn setup underneath where a belly tank could otherwise mount.  They were a popular aftermarket horn back in the day.  One day on the freeway an older lady came over on me and I laid on the horn.  She darted back and then started swerving around and about caused an accident.  Felt bad.  I try to minimize the times I use it—there is such a thing as a horn that’s TOO loud imo.
