Maintnence questions...
DrewDanube:
Update:
Got the tire mounted, installed. Cursed the entire lineage of the person that designed the way the panniers bolt on. Took 3 of us to get them bolted up. (50 bucks for the aftermarket solution is sounding like a great investment at the moment).
With one bag on, took it for a spin. Low speed was fine except for weird noises. Either the right nut flange is rubbing because of the bolt not being tight because the bag wasn't on, the brakes need to be re-bed or something is awry in our re-install of the tire/wheel...hoping its not the latter at this point.
Any suggestions? Its a high pitch squeel during left turns and rear braking...

Cut the nut cages and reversed the bolt heads thru the fender stays (grab rails)? With the bike on the ground, put two people the size of you and your pillion on the bike and have someone that is very anal check the clearances. ~Jeff

I figured that was next :). I didn't know about reversing the bolt but love it. We could get an allen wrench through from the tire side no problem, but never from the outside to check alignment. I will be buying the rattlebars kit at some point.

Final update, I think...
Its done...the fenders modified to hold the tire (should have gone to a 205/60 instead of 55 if i had known that I was going to have to modify the fenders for sure...but oh well).
Initial rides...rear braking is WAY better, bike feels more solid taking off...both obvious with more contact. however, I did a bunch of turns and aside from a little firmer hand, it did everything I asked, including almost peg scraping.
Now that its running...my box of buttons for radio and clock aren't working. I wiggled alot of parts in the process of doing this so I'm going to open up the right side cover and check connections. wish me luck...at least i am running.
Drew
EDIT: I'll admit that I hadn't read my manual yet, specifically the audio control section. There is an ON button! It worked onced I hit the ON button. Funny how that works... (Battery died while waiting for the tow)

Yes, Sir. Good to see you chiming in, Curtis! Going on Stan's ride to Meer's Store Saturday, May 3rd?
Jeff I didn't know about it, sounds like a plan. It's been a while since I rode with you guys. Let's see how I feel after working 12's all this week (I'll probably need a ride more desperately, ha!).
Curtis
