OK we need a thread with pictures of Valks doing Wheelies and burnouts. Post them up for all to see.

I've had these two pictures for a while and don't remember who they are. If you know who these guys are post a reply.

Now go find your wheelie and tire burnout pictures and post them in this thread.

Both of those are the same guy.  Rufcut and his wonderful wife Pooh, from Manford, Ok.  He was at Robbers Cave last year, on the borrowed wing. Smiley

Now who this nutcase is, I have no idea!

Dragbars from TN is the bike to the right of LaMont, not sure on the others even though I was there.

Another picture has Mosa, Dragbars, LaMont and I think it was TJ, but I can't find it right now.   I'll keep looking.....

I don't have a picture of it, but I recall one time at Bike Week with Charlie Grau.....The Sculptor. We were tooling down US-1 and hit a light. While sitting there, all these zip-splats pulled up and a couple started to do a rather puny burnout. Charlie yelled at me and with a goofy grin on his face he proceeded to light it up with his Viking pipes roaring and smoke going everywhere. The dudes on the zip-splats suddenly went quiet and with the green light, rather solemnly rode away. He later told me "those little boys need to learn how to do a burnout."  Grin

I used to do wheelies frequently on my 98 Valkyrie standard. I've only had the front end up on my 2000 a few times, but not necessarily trying to wheelie, just rear tire getting some good grip on a a rapid take off. I've done some small wheelies on the F6B. Again not really trying to wheelie on it either. angel  I'm more worried of the potential $$$$ involved in unexpected repairs or something. Or I'm just getting older.

I did a very similar one a few days after I got the Mothership with Mrs. Alien on the back.  It was unintentional and required new shorts.

I have a video somewhere of Hollywood doing wheelies with his bride on the back and then going by the motel at 50 mph standing straight up on the seat with his arms outstretched and her sitting on the back. I got to find that video.

I never could understand, why someone would put out all that money, all that care, love it, treat it better than family, and turn around and beat the crap out of it. I guess each to their own!!

Never done the burn out thing and quite frankly, never understood anyone else doing it but, it's their bike and their tires.   Only popped one wheelie on my Valkyrie and it was not intentional, had a guy on my butt for three lights in a roll.   At the third light, I'd had enough and all I can say is the planets lined up and everything was just right.   When I rolled around that turn and then twisted the throttle, up she came.   Surprised the hell out of me but, I road it out and left the dirt bag in my dust.

I don't make a habit of trying to do this but, always like seeing other's who have the skills show me what they can do.   Me, I'm lucky to chew gum and walk at the same time.   crazy2

As heavy as our bikes are, wouldn't a wheelie that high in the air be hard on the bike coming down ? I've only got the front wheel off the ground 5 or 6".

I'd guess anyone with any business doing a wheelie like that would be able to set it
down easy... I was the wheelie king on 125s and 185s in High School... I don't guess
I've ever lifted a Valkyrie front wheel even an inch...

NO picature but on the lost lunch ride at I-14 we were passing a lake on the left and I saw a LOT of M/Cs parked near the lake. I built space between my brother and myself and when I was across from the parked M/Cs I twisted the throttle W F O. Front end came up and I stayed in first gear til I hit the chip and when it came down had to GIT ON the brakes so as not to pile into my brothers bike. Wish I could have seen their faces when I wheelied the Phatt Ghurl. RIDE SAFE.

. . . with Lamont, I'm thinking the assembly of Valks is the Valkyries in the Valley ride to Yosemite, based at the Miners Inn in Mariposa (circa 2000).  Cool

I was wearing a cast and using a wheelchair for a while a few years ago and really missing riding.

Talked my son Andy into taking me on a ride on my Valk. He got a very nice wheelie with me on the back about a mile from the house. Didn't get a picture unfortunately but it sure made my day.

About 30 years ago, I spent a good two hours in a field trying to learn to balance a Honda 250R quad on a wheelie.  Never could master it.
