i am mounting an is trunk on the standard. everything hooks up fine , but, my q is : are there some kind of spacers between the trunk rails and the grab rails on the frt stud? if so: how thick do they need to be? i can't find a pic of the setup on any of the parts sites. thanks:Tank

Not to contradict Willow, but when I added the trunk to my '97 Standard, part of the hardware I got from the previous owner were two 1/2" chrome spacers...  The way mine hooks up, is trunk bracket, over rail studs, then chrome washer, chrome spacer, and acorn nut (for fronts), and just a chrome washer and acorn nut for the two rear studs.

I traded my standard rails, for his IS rails, my Std hinges for the saddle bags, for his IS 'clips', and gave him my backrest and pad.

YMMV...

I stand corrected.  Mine has spacers outside the trunk rails just under the forward acorn nuts.

The picture seems to indicate a washer on the rear.
