I've fixed cracks in saddlebags using ABS glue and the repair has held up without any further running of the cracks or recurrence. I drilled small holes at the end of the cracks to stop them from running, blue-taped the outside of the bags to keep the ABS glue from escaping, and then simply glopped (sp?) the ABS glue into and around the crack from the inside. I suppose you could also add some fiberglass mat or cut fibers into the glue for additional strength. The bags, pods and fairing are all ABS so the glue melts right into/onto the existing material for a solid repair.

I got the ABS glue at Lowes in the plumbing department.

Black A B S hardening glue cause it can be sanded and used after words as a filler. When I repaired my saddle bag the cracks had tension on them. I cleaned the cracks out glued them up and used wood clamps to hold pressure on them and put pieces of flat stock A B S on the crack from the inside. The first one I did was nerve wracking as I waited the full 24 hours to release the clamp pressure. And it held!  cooldude cooldude cooldude Continued my repair waiting the full 24 hours each time so I was completely certain the glue had set up and cured.  coolsmiley Once you start sanding the imperfections make themselves known. DO NOT give up-remember-the Black A B S hardening can be used as a filler. Take your time and it should work out just fine. When you try to rush the repair is when it WILL bite you in the keester!  uglystupid2 RIDE SAFE.

Okay, I got you covered ..... all you had to do was change a few words around and we'd understand.  Wink Like this ...... "Shelia was pushing her bike out to ride and it got away from her and fell on mine"!  Cheesy

Glad it was not worse ....... like a serious crash.

How about posting a picture of the cracks so we can see what your up against.

I use a sheet of ABS. Cut it into narrow strips to be used as a welding rod. Use a chisel point soldering iron and melt a v into the two adjoining pieces. Then go back and weld the pieces together using the rod as a filler. Sand smooth and paint.  cooldude

Use only black ABS (NOT multi-purpose ) glue. As O2S said , it can be used for filler as well as a bonding agent. ONLY black ABS specific glue will stick. Fiberglass will not stick to abs plastic. (fiber glass matting may help , but I have never used it) J B weld works but not as well. I have done many repairs and am now doing a severe road rash on a bag lid. I will take it right up to primer with the glue. I let it set up and then sand and fill as needed.

Thanks. This might lead me to pick up some hard bags with some flaws, but a great price.

Thanks to everyone who answered and to my little buddy who had Greg call and fill in some good info.
Think i will get started this week and see how it goes also T-Man your insight was all wrong it was all me and my stupid decision not to move my bike that was under cover. It will be fixed but like Gordon told me it still rides good and runs good. Rode it yesterday to Hooters to meet my brother for lunch and ended up having lunch with Magoo,Lisa & Beekeeper  what a great time we had and good seeing them.
  Thanks Again Dennis

thanks,  good to know about the black ABS glue found in plumbing dept.  I have several items needing glueing and is that polypropeline/polyethanel (spelling?)  plastic material.  I have used JB weld thinking it could be used for plastic, and although it holds for awhile, never worked and cracked all over again.  Not a lot of glues out there able to bond solid plastic.
