Since when is the dragon an evil, horrible, terrible, satanic symbol?

Just a powerful mythological beast.  Certainly more interesting than a pig (hog).

Well, I'll admit I have never understood why the dragon logo was adopted.

But, it is not something I consider anti-religion.   Just a logo.

Yeah, I have read the story about someone way back when calling our bikes a powerful fire breathing beast.   Something about the Dragon's Cave as I remember.    Didn't make sense to me then and still doesn't today but, it just a logo.   Who cares.

Wow now I didn't see that coming, but he's correct in the dragon. Its not just a mythological beast but satan himself. I dont know how many of you have actually seen that when satan is represented he looks like a dragon or a ram with horns. Satanic symbols are all around us, just do a internet search and you may be surprised. We in this time accept things because we have become dull in discernment, or desensitized to some pretty nasty things.

Rev_12:4  And his tail *swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.

Rev_12:3  Then another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems.

Rev_12:7  And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war,

If you are a christian you remove those kind of things from your house. A long time ago I used to have pewter dragon statues in my house they all went into the garbage since I became a Christian. Sounds strange and weird doesn't it? I thought so too until I heard some verifiable stories. The problem is compromise.

Or how about how to train you dragon? Real evil, right...
I like the dragon as a metafor for a motorcycle that is one powerful beast.
Not an atheist, by any means. In our church we have a group of riders which we call life riders. We are a conservative church that is an Assembly of God church. We do many rides together, and with fund raising rides in the Salt Lake area. Most of our riders are on hogs. I be different. Cheesy cooldude Wink

Everything looks good till its not just like the president or the O care. How about a Wegie board or Harry Potter both are witchcraft. How about something we all do, manipulation that is also witchcraft. Anything can be made to look innocent.
2Co 11:14  No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
He will even deceive the elect, that is what is wrong with some churches today.

But a dragon representing a motorcycle is not the end of the world or demonic. It just is something that I personally don't care for either knowing what I know.

How about the American flag? or one with a gold fringe look the same really but they are not.
The flags displayed in State courts and courts of the United States have gold or yellow fringes. That is your WARNING that you are entering into a foreign enclave, the same as if you are stepping into a foreign embassy and you will be under the jurisdiction of that flag. The flag with the gold or yellow fringe has no constitution, no laws, and no rules of court, and is not recognized by any nation on the earth, and is foreign to you and the United States of America. President, Dwight David Eisenhower, by Executive Order No.10834, signed on August 21, 1959 and printed in the Federal Register at 24 F.R. 6865, pursuant to law, stated that: "A military flag is a flag that resembles the regular flag of the United States, except that it has a yellow fringe border on three sides."

If you are a christian you remove those kind of things from your house.

With all respect, if that was true, I wouldn't be one. If you are a Christian, you worship Christ. You
look through the Bible searching for ways that you might serve Christ.

For I was hungry
and you gave Me something to eat;
I was thirsty
and you gave Me something to drink;
I was a stranger and you took Me in;
I was naked and you clothed Me;
I was sick and you took care of Me;
I was in prison and you visited Me.

Personally, this is a complete non issue for me .
Since it has become a discussion item, think of it in a positive way and consider yourself Saint George everytime you are going for a ride.
Besides, the word Valkyrie also originates from non Christian beliefs.
BTW, word goes that Honda did not want to name the export version Valkyrie but F6C since Valkyrie can be associated with nazi Germany. During WW2, Wagners opera's were popular in Germany and supported Hitler's ideas to some extent.
Christianity over time, has adopted many pagan symbols, the X-mas tree being the most striking.
If you ride a big, powerful machine with a distinct roar and somebody calls it dragon, I can see no harm in that. No offense intented, whatsoever.

The rock music industry used to pray demonically over the records after they were cut. Some occult Books, Weegie boards and such can have demons attached. Salvation is only half of the story people need to be delivered of what ails them mentally and physically. That is one reason why Jesus did not only preach salvation but healed the people cast out demons.

NO they are not in everything and lets not get weird on this but just a word of caution and awareness.

Mat_8:16  When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill.
Mat_8:32  And He said to them, "Go!" And they came out and went into the swine, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and perished in the waters.

Why are we supposed to pray over our houses and anoint them with oil at the entrance ways?
Is the blood of Jesus still effective today, why?

Was the sorcerers staffs that turned into snakes and then Moses staff swallowed them up a example of spirits in inanimate objects?

Questions that those who really want to know the Father and love people will ask and have the Father explain it to them in the appropriate time.

Some choose to work on their bikes for better knowledge some not its up to each person but that does not make the truth go away.

Since we brought up Dream of Jeanie, how about Harry Potter or Halloween, or the Walking Dead, Smantha, Teen age witch, Most horror movies? How about shows that are really porn or rap videos that glorify death, hate, killing, money? While there are so many ways that the current media glorifies demonic power, its more brainwashing of acceptance of things that are not good. If we accept them and think they are friendly then we will let them function. Bad will play one sympathy so you choose to allow them to stay. That is the real problem "WILL". Can anyone say Adam Lanza?

1Pe_5:8  Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

Eph_6:13  Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
Jas_4:7  Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

What ever you feed that is what will become strong. Feed evil desires and they will become strong and dominant. Feed your spirit and pray and get close to God and your spirit will become strong. Same principle as exercise.

None of this is presented as condemnation or that I think anyone's statues or masks of dragons are evil. Its only presented to inform what the Bible really says since some have questioned Weeder's position on the symbol of a dragon. His post is not clear and scattered but about the dragon he could be correct. Certainly not everything connected to dragons is bad and also can be said that all that is presented as good is not good either. Just presented for information to think about since some things are more than they appear. It comes down to choice doesn't it. I too like dragons and have admired many I have seen here some were amazing, but I will not take a chance for something so small to hinder my walk. That's all, you can take it or leave it and we all make our own decisions but, make them informed. I will not stop  wanting to ride the dragon or shy away from looking at dragons and this is not specifically about dragons just demons inhabiting inanimate objects and how much evil we feed our ourselves. I may not present this in the most reader friendly way since I care about this topic and for that I am sorry. Content is correct presentation may be lacking.
Heb 5:11  Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.
Heb 5:12  For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
Heb 5:13  For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant.
Heb 5:14  But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

Php_4:8  Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

I have been riding motorcycles for 40 years.  I never even heard (or thought) it was a statement as you said "to the man"  Maybe it is for you, That would be a shame.

I ride a Valkyrie even though it cannot be called a Valkyrie in other parts of the planet because they don't like the word.

I am a Christian, My bike has Christian stuff on it, my vest has Christian patches on it.  I have a Christian tattoo

My seat on the Valkyrie has a dragon embroidered on it.  I like it, never once thought it was anti-Christian.

If that's what it means to you then don't use that symbol, Are you going to stop calling your bike a Valkyrie because others hate that word?

There are so many causes for the decline of society, Dragons are not one.

Oh, please, people. If you are 'down on dragons' because of a supposedly 'Christian' perspective, you might want to read Psalms 18:8. I've been a Christian (meaning one who realized he was a dirtbag, lived mainly in a wretched manner, and who saw Jesus' sacrifice as taking my punishment for what I deserved so 'accepted' His gift) for 44 years. You can make ANYthing an idol. That is an individual issue.

I have never thought of the dragon as evil... some may.  Concerning our Valkyries... I think it is meant to be a symbol of strength.  I happen to like it.  I have one on my Valk and think of it just as a conversation piece.  Nothing evil in any way... see signature pic.

Mules have come to symbolize everything wrong headed and downright evil in this country.

But actual mules are pretty neat creatures.

There aren't any actual dragons. (The Komodo Dragon is a large disgusting lizard, not an actual dragon.)

Myth, legend, and folklore are supposed to be entertaining, but like all entertainment, should never be taken seriously.

My dragons are blue.  I like them.

WoW!  Huh?  Kinda disjointed.

However, from what I gather my avatar might be satanic.  It's a take on a Korean dragon.

However, I'm not worried.  Same for Valkyrie.  All myths.  Entertainment and that's it.

Good thing no one has pics of goats on their Valks.  I believe that the Bible mentions that.  Or pigs that have become demon possessed and drowned.

It seems to me that PMS is starting.

Weeder, this Board is full of good veterans (and non-veterans) and patriots who do not like where this country is heading or being lead or governed, and have been very vocal about it (almost daily).

But really, dragons have nothing to do with it.

I see your point Jess .     All are  good people on this board is my opinion  no doubt about it.

In the fall of 1775, the British were occupying Boston and the young Continental Army was holed up in Cambridge, woefully short on arms and ammunition. At the Battle of Bunker Hill, Washington's troops had been so low on gunpowder that they were ordered "not to fire until you see the whites of their eyes."

In October, a merchant ship called The Black Prince returned to Philadelphia from a voyage to England. On board were private letters to the Second Continental Congress that informed them that the British government was sending two ships to America loaded with arms and gunpowder for the British troops.

Congress decided that General Washington needed those arms more than General Howe. A plan was hatched to capture the British cargo ships. They authorized the creation of a Continental Navy, starting with four ships. The frigate that carried the information from England, the Black Prince, was one of the four. It was purchased, converted to a man-of-war, and renamed the Alfred.

To accompany the Navy on their first mission, Congress also authorized the mustering of five companies of Marines. The Alfred and its sailors and marines went on to achieve some of the most notable victories of the American Revolution. But that's not the story we're interested in here.

What's particularly interesting for us is that some of the Marines that enlisted that month in Philadelphia were carrying drums painted yellow, emblazoned with a fierce rattlesnake, coiled and ready to strike, with thirteen rattles, and sporting the motto "Don't Tread on Me."
The rattlesnake also has sharp eyes, and "may therefore be esteemed an emblem of vigilance."

"She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage. ... she never wounds 'till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of treading on her."  ...
