I'm also glad Ohio State got the nod (and the jump) to be included.

Though right away in the first year of playoff, a real case could be made for a 6 team playoff with TCU and Baylor doing a rematch (they both deserve a shot).

But us old time purists sure wish the Rose Bowl got a traditional Big Ten/Pac Ten Ohio State/Oregon match-up, with FL State and AL matched in the Sugar.  I guess playoffs always match #1 with #4, and #2 with #3.

Yea BF, and Bama plays Ohio in the Sugar Bowl Jan 01, then on to Arlington hopefully.  Ohio will be tough to beat.

Although FSU has an unbeaten record for the year, I don't expect them to get past Oregon. They seem to wait until the second half to get into the game and that won't work with Oregon. FSU is good, but not as good as last year. I don't look for them to come out on top but you never know. It's going to be interesting and I agree re. TCU and Baylor, it should be a six team playoff.

WI Badgers never showed up to play I guess vs. Ohio State?  Pretty pathetic representing for sure.  I for one never did like the Badgers soft schedule, especially pre-season.  It makes them think they are a powerhouse then when they get in the big game with a very good team, they seem shocked and don't know what to do.

I have to disagree on this point, both don't deserve a shot they should have a conference championship game like everyone else in the country. They should not be co-champions,Baylor should have won the conference championship as they both had one loss and Baylor beat TCU head to head.

I understand that, but each only have one loss, TCU only lost to Baylor by a couple points in a high scoring game, and either team could conceivably run the table on the other 4 playoff teams.  To me, it is only coincidence that both are in the Big 12... each played and beat some pretty tough teams and each is good enough with a good enough record to play for a national championship.

I also understand there can be no Sweet 16 in a football playoff.

Jess I understand what you are saying but they still should have a conference championship. Then they would have a conference champion not a co- campion. Had they name TCU big 12 champion they would have stayed in playoff in my opinion but since they were named co- champion they had to leave both out of consideration. For someone with a Conference championship. I will say i think it should be more than a four team playoff.
