Just curious but, is that a butt weld on the frame?   Can be seen from 1:15 to about 1:25 in the video.

Still not as good as the power slide in the desert, but much better than the air strip ad.  Now they just need to televise it.
Honda doesn't quite get the whole marketing concept... had the same problem with the original Valkyrie.

I think I know that road. Hwy 33 just north of Ojai CA. Awesome road.

I liked the ad. And someday, I wouldn't mind buying one at all. Since I'm wanting to retire in a couple years, I might have to wait till they come down a few grand more.

Thanks for posting that video, Britman. I thoroughly enjoyed that. It was well done and summed up the very reasons why many of us are cross country riders. There were some beautiful shots in that video. It was well worth the time it took to view it.

I'm just wondering how they'll make an Interstate out of it. Too much sport and not enough cruiser/touring. Gonna be difficult to make a I/S model out of it but I guess Honda would tell you to look towards the F6B or Wing.....right?

1. Valkyrie is the standard

2. F6B is the tourer

3. Wing is the Interstate.

And there you have it.

When I test rode one in the summer I had a hard time holding onto the grips when I really gave it throttle.  I wasn't too crazy with the seating style or the seat.  The seat felt like a brick.  I would definately have to change the seat, put on a windshield, put on a radio, would like cruise but it don't come with it.....naw.... I think I would rather get the CTX1300.  More bang for the buck.

I think the CTX1300 is by far a more practical and functional bike.  I'd really like to see a more traditional windshield for the Valkyrie and Corbin already came out with nice enough hard bags.

All in all, not buying the Valkyrie for any kind of cross country riding, I'm happy with it overall.  No bike is perfect but I feel that I can live with the little things I don't like.  It definitely makes a fun short trip bike.

If and when I get my new Valkyrie I won't be putting either a windshield or bags on it.

If I go touring it will be pulling a trailer.

If I were to go touring with a "New" Valkyrie, it would be on the trailer.  Wink

OK, just pulling your leg.   Actually, I think the trailer is a good idea but, I'd have to have a decent windscreen.   Just my thoughts.

Edited:  BTW, I still don't like that butt weld.   I'm sure the engineers considered it in the design, I just don't trust butt welds.
