Bought a Fridg. at Sears the other day. Didn't know if I was in their systen as having a card any more as it been a couple years since i used their card and i did not have the card. The gal looked it up and o ya I still have a card. she needed my social # to confirm who i was and it wouldn't go through. Said I was some woman, tried it 4 times. I asked her if i need to call the cops or sombody and she said she would take care of it right now. The gal then called the bank for the sears card and had thenm drop the womans name. She told me its not a big deal, maybe just a slip of a finger on a number entry. It still kinda bothers me as I havent used that card for about 2 years. Maybe this is somthing we all need to ck. on ? Try to charge at the store without using your card and they will ask for your social #, sears did.

Lifelock is your friend. Some how mine got out and just like in Readers Digest, cc payment pf $99.00 and the next day, gone. Some thing in Baltimore. I never checked my balance by phone, never on the computer, always face to face at the same counter. They made it right, but it took 6 months to get back on an even keel bills wise. Not a big deal??? OOOHHH YES IT IS!!! How is it that a low life crackhead with MY SSN can get better credit than I can??? I need a plane ticket to Baltimore and a bowling bag.

PLEASE everbody do this.
FREEZE YOUR CREDIT.
Go to Experian, Transunion and Equifax. Find the link to freeze yoiur credit AND whilst there apply for a free credit report as well.
It might cost $3 to freeze your credit at each web site.
MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A NOTE OF THE PIN# YOU ARE GIVEN. Do not lose this.
If you need to buy a car a house etc go unfreeze your credit and freeze it again after the transaction.
Once done bad guys can't apply for credit in your name.
I repeat
MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A NOTE OF THE PIN# YOU ARE GIVEN AT EACH WEB SITE. Do not lose this.

While it’s in place, it prevents virtually everyone from accessing your credit files, even those you’ve authorized to do so (access still is permitted for companies with which you have existing relationships, such as your credit card issuers). That can create hassles, delays, and other problems if you need to apply for a loan, credit card, or a job; obtain insurance; rent an apartment; set up electric or phone service; and more. Most companies won't extend credit until they check your credit file at one or all of the three major credit bureaus. And some employers won't hire you without a credit check. So you make a choice. I've had mine frozen for aobut 6 years. Removed the freeze when I bought my house and car.

It would probably be good thing for us, I don't foresee any loans or such things.
