The steering wheel is on the wrong side.  How could one trust anyone who would build a car with the steering wheel on the wrong side?   crazy2

Seriously, it's interesting what people can, and will, do with technology.

You Know, car are weapons, just like guns, just what we need is another distraction for the road. I say get all that high dollar crap out of our cars and just drive the damn thing and if you can't parallel park you shouldn't drive. We need to get off our lazy fat a$$ and and get away from this StarWars mind set, car are not toys, people are dieing because of them.

Correct, I think this is the future, it will continue to the point of driverless cars, as people will be too busy (as they are now) to actually drive. I hope they make strong technology that picks up oncoming motorcycles so the driver can NOT make the left turn in front of them. I also hope they do not apply that technology to motorcycles...

I don't know about that!!! Go in to you car or truck and look at all the accessories it has and ask yourself, what is and is not necessary in there. And you will see we were targeted along time ago.

There are more than enough things to keep you attracted or distracted while driving now. Appears to me anyway that we are moving the information gathering in vehicles to a jet fighter like enviorment. Ask the newer fighter pilots about "information overload" . And-Paul-some prat WILL pile into something or someone due to following the "ghost car"-and THEN I will be curious to see how the barristers end up thrashing THAT out.  uglystupid2 And-yup-I fer sure and fer certain AIN'T the demographic they are targeting!  2funny RIDE SAFE.

Like Willow said, it's interesting to see what they can do with technology, however, to me, that's just more gobbledygook and distractions that take the driver away from actually driving the car.

If you really need that much technology in your car in order to drive it, you don't really need to be driving it.

My thoughts exactly.  So far the ONLY 2 things of any benefit I see are the very inexpensive side mirrors having a smaller blind spot mirror on the top outside - they do work well.

The other is a backup camera NOT for relying on entirely, but just for a quick glance at is all.

Spending another 5-6 grand or more on gadgets that will fail eventually is a waste of money and will be dangerous since it causes mediocre drivers at best to become worse drivers causing more accidents like my techy geek neighbor is.  I've been in his car while he was driving, pretty scary even when he is not distracted by his cell phone and other gadgets he spend on his car.  I even told him to quit fiddling with all those buttons while he was driving me in the passenger seat since more than once he went over the centerline and also sped up/slowed down NEVER a consistent speed.

Even bluetooth is distracting to me at times.  I have used it and the darn voice recognition sometimes doesn't work or have to repeat or dropped calls, etc.  can distract even the good drivers.

I was leaning toward a '53 Chevy five window 1/2 ton pick up but, to each their own.
Not to be a killjoy but, I don't want those options even if they are free.
