The parts I broke a belt with engine running @ idle and needed a bunch of parts.  On a dealership written estimate the price was $807.93 parts plus $720 Labor plus 7.5% tax on total ($1642.52)  Yesterday, I ordered everything thru PROCALIBER.COM for $515.78--No tax & free shipping!!   Saved $352. on just the parts!!

Their phone # 1-877-240-1844 and I spoke with "Ben".  His direct e-mail=benj@procaliber.com.

My parts are supposed to be shipped this Monday!!

Did a quick comparison on a few random parts with my online vendor of choice Partzilla.  Procaliber was lower in each case, and their threshold for free shipping appears substantially lower.  cooldude

Good Catch...hope the delivery is seamless.

You know, I make an effort to use the local dealership for parts and some service when dealing with the small stuff because I need them to stay open for business!  angel  But, I've found these online sources to be safe for my online transactions, the shipments are accurate and decently prompt, and they can save big $$$ on big jobs.

Nice to have another online source to consider...

you know, ordering the parts on line and then having a dealer to install them is like taking your own bacon and eggs to a restaurant and asking them to cook it for you..

Grin  I have actually done that, (believe me, they don't mind) but typically if I don't get the parts from the dealer they don't do the install.

In anticipation of a couple of questions: You broke a Valkyrie belt?  How??

It all started out as a very minor oil leak at one of the valve cam end seals, with an estimated repair cost at the dealership of $150., which I was going to have done.  Then I decided that I should pulled the front cover again and clean everything up real clean and while at it I might be able to actually see the leak.  So I cleaned it up and started the engine and let it run a couple of minutes, so that I might see the seepage.  I didn't see the leak, but see a very small pool of oil that I had missed and decided to put a shop rag around my finger and get that last little bit of oil, which was right under the center (engine crank) pulley.  One of the belts caught the rag, pulled it up and onto the pulley and under the belts, causing one of them to snap.  Because the engine was at idle, it stopped almost instantly and didn't pull my finger into it too.  After replacing both belts and properly timing the engine started.   I couldn't hear any metal banging or clanging, just the engine running raggedly and a little "popping".  So, I hoping for the best case scenario, a couple of bent valves.  I did order the full set of 12 valves and seals etc., just in case.

The dealership shop manager said that he had no problem with me supplying the parts and him doing the installation, as his landed parts costs is too close for him to try and match.

My dealership holds parts orders (usually 3-4 days max) until they get a certain amount to save on their shipping costs.  It is a business decision that they know can cause a delay for the customer, so they seem to have no problem with customers supplying the parts.

I posted about ProCaliber a couple weeks ago after finding them on a web search for parts. My experience with them was outstanding; the delivery, prices, etc., so decided to share it. Regardless, glad you got to save some $$ Earl.  cooldude

I bought some 2014 Valkyrie parts from them after John posted. They had a great price,
but it took two weeks to get the parts. 2014 Valkyrie parts might be harder to get than
"normal" parts, not that I really understand how the parts distribution network works...

I got brake and clutch hydraulic lines, and throttle cables to send off to custom
manufacturers to use as templates. Instead of uninstalling my lines and sending
those. This new Valkyrie doesn't take apart as easily
as our old Valkyries, I didn't want to take it too far apart and then wait a few weeks
while my custom parts get made. Taking it far enough apart to get the switchbox
wiring out so I could lengthen it has me nervous enough. It is kind of like the
difference between working on a 57 Chevy and then looking under the hood of
a modern car and not seeing anything you recognize  Shocked ...

Now when my custom lines get here, I'll be able to undo and then redo while
the dis-assembly process  is still fresh in my mind...
