Our Tennessee governor, stated today he was going up on our gas taxes.
Like always.... they give it to you in one hand, and take it away with the other tickedoff

And when the prices go back up, which they will very shortly.....ask him if he will reduce the gas taxes.   Grin. We know the answer to that.....

News report this eve indicated that US wells are not making money at these low prices and some will be laying off and shutting down due to the price reductions.  If they can't make money, they can't pay the workers and ....well, you get the idea.  It's going to bottom out and blow up in our faces, along with the UE rate, and overall economy.....

Of course they are making money, gobs of it.   They made money when gas was .99 a gallon.   If Wall St and the Oil Company fat-cats would stop stuffing their own pockets with their greed then there would be plenty of money to explore, drill and pay workers.

Notice that nothing else is coming down in price due to the lower fuel costs?   The drastic price increases for everything was blamed on rising fuel costs, so why haven't they gone down?   Starting the first of the year, the airlines are going up over 6% on tickets and UPS/FedEx is going up 4.9%, yet their fuel costs are significantly less right now.

Most of the rising costs you see today revolves around greed...

Don't know about other businesses, but airline business is feast or famine, it always has been.  If you don't plow the money back into the business when its feast time, i.e. new, more efficient aircraft, upgraded facilities,  in-flight wifi, etc, you won't make it in the next downturn.  That's the mode most airlines are in now.
