Dave, I used a similar integrated led array (run, brake and turn all in the tail light) (Signal Dynamics or Custom Dynamics or one of the other 3,4 companies making them 15 years ago... now there's hundreds) on the wife's 1100 V*Custom. I had also installed small Kuryakyn led silver bullets for signals (since added hardbags interfered with the stock turn signals).
I experimented with all the different options and decided I did not like or need separate turn signals and a turn signal function in the tail light too. I thought it might be confusing to have two turn signals blinking in back, and that it was better to have more brake light from the tail light while simultaneously turning and braking (the turn function in the led tail light overrides or covers up some of the brake light function). I also had some concern for DOT rules and strict VA Trooper enforcement. So even though I could have a signal function in the tail light array, I left that part not hooked up.
I also ended up with numerous problems with multiple leds, HD electronic flasher (not hot load equalizers), common grounds, and tore much of my remaining hair out trying to get it all to work together. I ended up with things working perfectly in the shed on battery power alone, then going haywire blinking intermittently on both sides running down the road. I finally had to take it to someone who actually knew what they were doing, and will never, ever use leds in signals again as a result.
Assuming (without knowing) the run and brake functions alone are bright enough in this EBay product (leaving the signal function NOT hooked up) (and that the leds are reliable and don't start burning out), it is a pretty good price for a run-brake led array.
In the old days there were two plug-and-play led arrays for the Valkyrie tail light in only run/brake. The better and more expensive one had a lot more individual leds in it than the cheaper one.
That's all I got.

Jess, Thanks and points taken. I will not be replacing the turn signals with it as my turns are fine with the oem bags. I have clear turn signal lenses coming with amber bulbs to use. Just looking at reasonably priced options for a clear tail light lense with red bulb or led's. Others I've seen for just a brake light clear with led are @ $100. So this could be used and just not connect the signals if I wanted I assume. Thanks again for taking the time to write your experience.

I am not sure, but I think white lights (bulb or led) behind a red lens are brighter than a red bulb behind a clear lens. I have not seen red led tail light arrays.
Me, I like amber and red lenses better than clears.

I'm the opposite as I prefer the clear lense look. Had it on my Tourer several years ago but had the red bulb with clear lense. Most are selling the clear lense for more then I can get this kit. May buy it just to check it out as it's a cheaper way to get the lense alone.

Yeah, I spent a lot of years preferring blonds over brunettes. Now, all I care about is they've got their own teeth.

I have this type of setup and it helps. http://tech.bareasschoppers.com/diy-projects-mods/rear-lights-mod/ Follow the links to Custom Dynamics kit for less than $20 before shipping. I did have to do a little grinding to get the plexiglass ring to sit right and still change the incandescent bulb. Next will be either Mart T's highlighter or something similar.

I have one of these on mine. I don't use the indicators in the unit (illegal here in Spain). The guys I ride with say they are plenty bright enough and have no problems seeing me braking even in the bright sunshine here.

Bought it, tried it, did not like it. LED's are not bright at all. Very tight fit, which ended up bending some LED pins and causing them not to work. Threw the damn thing in the trash can within a week. However kept the clear lens and currently using it with Radiantz LED tail light along with a brake light flasher unit from superbrightled. This sucker is bright, I mean really bright!!! http://www.amazon.com/Radiantz-Tail-Light-Honda-Shadow-Valkyrie-VTX/dp/B000TK8LY8

I have that exact one on my bike. It is intergrated with built in turn signals but mine are not hooked up. Throw that clear lens away and use your oem red one. It is much brighter with the red lens.

I dunno. I think mine are pretty bright. I've got clear lenses on everything.

I'm with BF re. the clear lenses. This is my setup and not with the brake lights on....clear lens with red Radiantz LEDs. Many outfits don't have as many LEDs in their product as Radiantz, makes a huge difference. I have since added small quarter size flashing LED lights between the bags and fender in back. They alternately flash extremely bright like lights on a patrol car.

Dave, to the original question, I believe that's the unit that's been on my Standard for several years.
I've had some complaints that in the daytime the taillight isn't bright enough. The brake light is. I have hooked up the turn signal function because I think it's cute but I still run the OEM rear turns because I don't think the ones in the taillight would be adequate by themselves.
Honestly, if I were to do it again I would likely spend a bit more and go with Radianz just for the brightness.

My experience with following some guys with led tail lights (including stock Hog and Yamaha and Victory leds), is that their rear leds are fine, until we transition from sunlight into shade, when it suddenly looks like they don't have any tail light at all.... while running; if they brake in the shade I see them fine.
And it is noteworthy to me that on these rides, when transitioning into shade, tail lights with a single 1157 bulb never seem to disappear.
Of course at night, they are always clear and bright.

Thanks Willow I'm gonna give this one a shot as the price is right for the clear lense alone and can ad the radianz led's later if I want. Thanks to all others too for the input
