Some photos I took this morning, and the snow is still coming as of 12:30.

This is the door out to my Balcony, not the ground floor

No bar-b-q going on today

We were on the Northern edge of that storm.  Only got about two inches and a lot of blowing.  Our driveway is a sheet of ice and has completely blown clear.

I cleared about 8 inches the first time i did then driveway, have a couple of more since 11 AM.  Hasn't stopped snowing yet.

Haven't seen a plow go by yet.  I'm sure they are trying to keep the main roads clear.

for once,  IA and northern IL are getting slightly more hammered than here in WI.  Still not pretty though guessing 8" so far but hard to tell since I too have over 1 foot snowdrifts on my entire driveway.

I took my daughter into work today 13 miles away with 4wd pickup all for NOT.  The mgr. was there already 15 minutes prior to work.  I guess they don't know how to use a phone to call and tell her to stay home since they closed the store down for the day.  Pissed me off drove in this crap for nothing!  I told my daugher if she doesn't bitch the mgr. out,  I will for sure.   tickedoff

Tempted to go outside now and attempt to do something productive so I can be back in by 5 p.m. for Superbowl, but is still coming down HARD still.  It's suppose to die down soon, but surely doesn't look like it.  Roads are drifting pretty bad in the country, but driveable for a 4wd pickup or SUV with good ground clearance.

I did hookup my ATV snowplow yesterday, expecting 6" total, for the first time so might have some fun, or I might get stuck?   Will see I guess soon?  I think whatever I do plow away will be right back where it was like I never done much to begin with since over 20 mph winds.

I see my rich neighbor who just bought a new ski-doo 1200 e-tec 4 stroke 130hp touring 2-up snowmobile worth over 10 grand went out in this blizzard on the trails at noon today.  Not so sure heated seats, heated grips, and heated thumb throttle with full touring windshield will help much if not able to see where they are going.  I just hope they make it home safe since they like to drink until drunker than a skunk and 130hp snowscoot in a near white out blizzard does not mix well.

It was actually a VERY windy light snowfall that lasted well over 24 hours straight mostly lighter snow all the time and with the wind,  it caused not much snow to stick onto the roofs unlike a wet, heavier snowfall in a shorter amount of time.

I got stuck in my driveway 3x's with ATV snowplow trying to backup uphill in the driveway with snow and ice underneath the ATV.  I guess 800cc Can Am doesn't matter if you get enough snow under the plowblade and ATV as well as ice stuck on concrete under the snow having no traction,  hard to back uphill on an incline???  Wife had to come out and push me along a few times.

First time I used the snowplow with this newer ATV.  Worked o.k., but a snowblower would have been quicker since my  20x50' driveway always having to go back and forth all the time.  ATV snowplows work better for longer driveways where you can roll the snow off the plow blade going faster than 1-4 mph is all in my driveway.

Also, definitely going to replace my wired warn winch steel cable with a synthetic rope.  Reason:  I had a horrible time pushing my winch cable up too high and getting the wired cable (the actual crimp steel part between end of steel cable and steel hook) stuck in between the roller fairlead.  Even if the winch cable was not up too high,  the force sometime of the snow at the end of the push, pushed the winch cable and blade up and into the roller fairlead.   Was a pain in the butt trying to pull the steel cable out of the roller fairlead with the 60" heavy moose plow blade attached.   It happened about 15 times was starting to tick me off big time.    I'm thinking a synthetic rope being thinner with no round metal connector for the end of the steel cable will get caught in between the roller fairleads, agree???
