Looks cool, but would worry about lifting shingles.   I bought a item called a roof rake several years ago.  Only used it two winters so far.

Looks like its got small "runners" on each side underneath.  Maybe so you can't peel up the shingles?  That's why I keep a small toro snow blower around. If it gets real bad I can pull it up to the roof with a rope and get it done fast.  The paddles are half shot and it leaves about an inch of snow left as you go by.  Been here 7 years so far and last winter was the first time that I actually worried about it.
