Posting here to get opinions on a topic that has me twisted in the head and no clear answers.
Been reading about Jewish folks leaving France, and now England, due to a rise in antisemitism and crimes commited against Jews that go unanswered.
My opinion is that in today's technology age, people move around for many reasons including escaping high taxes or a warmer climate to name a couple. I feel that the safety and security of a person and their family is more important. We all can't be a William Wallace and if someone doesn't feel safe, or feel they can rely on the state for protection, why not go where you can feel safe?
After expressing my thoughts, I received a pretty good reply........ Jewish exodus from Europe means antisemitism wins.
I can't say I disagree with that statement, but .......... Should your kids be picked on or beaten up to fight prejudice? I do see the BIG picture and that standing up to prejudice is the only way to yadda, yadda, yadda. But again, we no longer live in a world where people are born and die in the same house or village. Many have the luxury of choice these days. So, why shouldn't they at least try to offer themselves and family a chance at a "less stressful" life.
Another little tidbit that added to my reasoning....antisemitism has been around for thousands of years. Something that old and still that pervasive in the world doesn't seem like it's going to lose the war any time soon.

I have a feeling its not the hatred of Jews in the UK that's the real issue. I didn't sense that the British people were anti Semitic when I was stationed there. I would think the real problem its the failure to eradicate radical muslims from Europe and the UK. We will have the same problems if we let them increase here too.
We need to call them what they are target them and get rid of them in high numbers until they crawl back under their rocks and leave the rest of us alone.

I understand your feelings that they should stand up to the bullies but on the other hand in the end times God calls them back to their own land. There are many reasons for this happening in their personal lives but if God puts the desire in their hearts then it will happen. Just like in 48 Israel became a nation, it was formed by many people for many reasons but it happened. Just as God said, He also said they would speak their own language and that has never in history happened before. Where a people returned to their own land and spoke their own language. Returning to your own land has only happened 3 other times. Like you said there are many reasons people make decisions but God said it would happen and it has and is. That is the real reason regardless of seeming causes. Nothing in the Mid East speaks of logic but when you start to view it in light of what God has said it makes perfect sense.
Exodus was God calling His people back what a awesome thought, that He heard their cries and delivered them. How did a Jew get to be number 2 man in Egypt at a time when Pharaoh gave a command that all Jewish children were to be killed. If we lived in that time we would have never seen it coming but through circumstances God did miracles only to be seen looking back. All who fit into Gods plans were not Jews and each acted on their own reasons. He will never forget His people just as He has not forgotten each one of us.

I agree with you Jeff, but unfortunately it seems England is incapable of protecting its citizens, so it does become their problem as well. England, and the rest of Europe experimented with people's lives with the open borders, etc. Now what? Can't go back. And I love that I got 5 great replies within 10 minutes of posting. |

So anti-Semites are tools of God ? Just as you cannot mention Jesus, or we see the society as a whole trying to water down and separate society from that name and teaching we see antisemitism today. The God of the Jews is the same God as the Christians but the god of the Muslims is the one that is in the world today and is totally different from the Jew and Christian God. Each has a choice on his or her own personal actions, but if you want to go further God knew and foretold what would happen. If you wanted to break down the whole conflict and antisemitism into the simplest of terms it breaks down to different fathers, jealousy, control. |

Exactly. What is happening now is what happened prior to WWII. Only the date has changed....and instead of Nazis we now have muslims doing the same thing. It's not letting antisemitism win, it's survival and letting good people with really big guns take out the bad guys. The only difference this time is that the bad guys don't ware uniforms. |

One side of my family escaped the persecution of the Jews in Germany in the early 1700s. They went to England and then came to the New Land in the 1730s. I would welcome the French Jews here if they chose to come. My family was looking for a new place that was free to chose and safe from persecution.
Maybe the newcomers will be safe here for another generation or two, but I'm not so sure of that the way things are going in this country now.

Of course, I have actually taken the TIME to ACTUALLY meet many of these members
break bread and ride over the last 13 years
How much effort have you taken to do the same
