Dad moved us from Kalamazoo in 1963. The snow shovel went into the back yard and there it stayed. He would line us up and say," You see that. Thats a snow shovel. Dont dare move anywhere you'll need one of those". Then he'd kick it to the other side opf the yard till next week and do the whole show over again. Finally one day it broke then he told us "To get a piece of it, and throw the damn thing away". Thanks Dad.

I live 25 miles NW of there and I still have my snow shovel and use it frequently. Seems like Allegan County gets it worse than any other part of the state. I tell my wife its because we live in the crotch of Michigan and we are 25 miles east of good ol Lake Michigan.

"Why do you even have that thing?"
Maybe you should use it to shovel some of that dirt off your bike!

Wunder will Daniel get as thin as his father in law? Daniel-showin the East coast folks WHAT you do with a snow shovel could have "repercussions" little further on down da line! THAT'S funny ONLY if you AIN'T got 2 feet or more of dat white chit on da ground! And-yup-be funny here in da Ozarks. RIDE SAFE.

Hey Daniel, Nice pics. And I have been enjoying your stories over the last 5 years on this forum. Not sure what to make of this one. Wish I could send you some of this white stuff so you could use that tool for it's intended purpose. In the mean time... here's that two feet of snow again just for you...!

speaking of riding in snow, I had to do a double take going to work yesterday. It was 23 degrees out and sort of windy out and roads somewhat slippery but not snow covered like the grass/sides of roads covered with snow.
It was an old cycle, pretty darn old looked to be made in the 1970's and under but not a Honda, but did have an old Windjammer fairing. Plus, it had an old fashioned type of side car pretty darn old as well. I didn't get a good look at it to get the mfg. name of the cycle, but that guy was nuts. Just lucky I guess he had a sidecar for stability as well as a full windjammer fairing.

I'm with Santa. You're lookin' good Daniel! If you WERE shoveling snow, you'd be thin as a rail. Lots of determination and stick-to-itness, way to go!

Thanks. 158 pounds gone. Wife's lost just about 100 as well. I HAVE actually used that shovel once...in 1995 we lost the roof on the suburban blah house in a severe storm and the water collapsed the sheetrock in the living room. I used the snow shovel to shovel insulation out of the room.
