Damn idiot...there are things you don't screw with on a sled, and wild animals is usually at the top of the list.

The sleds they are riding do have reverse...sadly, they didn't know to leave well enough alone.

That looked like a young one.

A full grown would have stomped him amd the snow mobile into a mangled mess without drawing breath.

Yes-a young moose. Had a much better encounter when I was in Alaska 1969 1970 getting married. The postmistress had adopted the young moose after the mother was put in some ones freezer. Those folks forgot a VERY important word-wild as in WILD life. Surprised that neither one of them were hurt. That little pea shooter would probably just pissed off the youngster. RIDE SAFE.

It can be easy to piss off young males of any species, even ours.

Had a Moose come over to me and say hi last year.  Little guy left Mommy's side and came to visit, turned and trotted off.  Got pretty close.  Just stayed calm and waited to see what would happen.  My kickstand spring was busted so it was tied up with a rope.  Would have had to drop the bike and run until the oxygen ran out.

I had an encounter with a mother and kid moose while hunting elk south of Yellowstone in the 80'.  I was walking on two feet of snow with trailer type snowshoes (those that are about 5' long).  Came around a small patch of fir trees and there they were.  About 10 yards away.  I am not a real short person (6'4") and she was looking eyeball to eyeball with me.   I was able to defuse the problem by walking backward, which is really hard to do in trailer type snowshoes, and telling her how pretty she was and how handsome her kid was.  Not sure about the rest of you but a moose is not the best looking critter around, lying comes easy to a person endanger of being stomped.

Moose can get very stubborn when the snow gets deep. I've had several that wouldn't get off the trail. You have to be patient and let them get off. One winter we had a s#*tload of snow and I was up on the roof of my house shoveling it off. A huge bull moose came along and started stomping my dog. Smartly on my dogs part he got uptight to a spruce tree so the moose couldn't get full kicks in on him.  By the time I got down the moose had went to the side of the house. Just as I was getting my injured dog he came at me. I made it thru the sliding glass door with inches to spare. It was so close that he snorted snot all over the glass. He stayed out there for hours pacing back and forth waiting to get another chance at us. He was probably the biggest and for sure meanest moose that I have ever seen. And I've seen several up close, including a 72" that my bosses wife shot.

Good way to end up hurt.....Mices will stomp you if provoked and are listed as dangerous.. As I see it, this was his own fault. The moose woulda paid for thieir stupidity if it woulda gone much farther.
