I take it one of those is bacon. I preferred the slabs that my uncle used to smoke. Cut a 1/4 slice off, and fry it up.

But what is the other stuff? Looks like fish sticks.

sausage breakfast links is my guess. Unless you have them for lunch then they'd be lunch links.

sure looks like string cheese to me?  Roll Eyes

speaking of bacon, I have nine one lb. packages left in my freezer after eating one this morning as we always do on the weekends (at least once).

I buy it whenever it is 2.99 per lb. on sale and buy 3-4 at a time every few weeks.  Lately, it has been on sale, either farmland or sugardale brand.  Sugardale brand is pretty darn good, beats the rest IMO and goes on sale in my area often.  Oscar Mayer bacon is too salty for my taste buds and Tyson brand doesn't have as much flavor.  Only other kind I get on sale is Patrick Cudahy, but if you can process the bacon yourself and know how to do it, am sure you can do it a tad cheaper than 2.99 per lb. on sale.

I always have said bacon is one of the 4 food groups.  cooldude

Yep!

That's 36 pounds of thick sliced bacon, and 20 pounds of pork sausage breakfast links. Quite good quality, both.

Bacon  cooldude

I buy my bacon at the local custom meats butcher.  They slice it thick so it doesn't stretch when you pull the slices off (I microwave it, no extra grease but extra crisp!).

The place is one of the few left where all their steers and hogs are butchered and processed on the site!   Good ole Indiana chow!

36lbs. of bacon should last ALMOST 1 year?

Maybe not,  I used up another 1lb. today as well as yesterday morning.  Down to only eight 1 lb. pkgs. left in the freezer, time to stock up again??

I cook mine 1/2 pkg. at a time in the oven with heavy duty aluminum foil over a baking pan flipping once 1/2 way thru cooking.  Doesn't anyone else, even covering it up,  think the bacon in microwave makes too much mess????

Better than bacon?   Cheesy

What could possibly be better than bacon than more bacon?  Maybe other foods wrapped in bacon...with ham and cheese.

Better than bacon?!?    Shocked
