There seems to be a miss-delivery going on here in NoVA.

The 5-10 inches of snow scheduled for here, was supposed to go to NYC and Boston..... they are used to it.

Plus is freeking cold.

At least it will be a dry snow Grin

Was THAT your birthday wish, Dennis? Didn't think so, but sometimes it's not all bad to be hunkered down--especially with a nice fire and a full belly.

Stay warm.

Feel horrible about the fellows in MA area, saw some pics and cannot even imagine shoveling all that snow in only 1 winter and where to put it all.  Just crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tickedoff

Makes our ONLY one bad 8-9" snowstorm seem like peanuts to what they have gotten hammered with several times this winter.   Cry

Wah, Wah, Wah Cry

That's all you here.

It's winter, in New England , should be used to it and damn well ready.

City folk have it bad trying to get around and were to put it, but us "Country Bumkins" know how to handle snow.

I could hear the big "Whew" coming from the east when this latest storm stayed south.

Plow guys are happy, stressed for sure, but happy.

December was dry and beautiful with sunny days in the forties.

I literally out ran that snow/ice storm that put a headlock on Georga last year.

Snowing in Macon as I just got out in time.

Getting coffeed up and the snowpacs and snowmobile suit out (no snowmobile, but great gear for the blower), and preparing to do a large blow job with the white stuff.

Dear Lord, please hold off on that heart attack for just a little longer, thanks!  angel

We were lucky. Warm air pushing up from the Gulf mixed with the heat of the city managed to defuse the ice storm bomb.

BUT people just north of us weren't so lucky.

Depending on where you measure and I'd guess who measures we got between 9" and 14" of that chit!  Lips Sealed  And was -4 this morning.  crazy2 And I can say with a certain amount of certainty that what I'm seeing around here looks zackly like I rekemember winter looking!  Roll Eyes Our main highways appear to be dry and dusty here.  coolsmiley The side roads on the other hand appear slippery at best. Side roads must be less than good as no school since this crap hit. Too many gravel or dirt roads they will NOT put the kids at risk here. And it ain't agonna git better quick!  Undecided I really HATE winter!  Angry RIDE SAFE.

After laboring for hours day before yesterday on my corner lot (especially because I have the largest buss stop for kids in the area), I was somewhat pissed off to discover that a big plow covered about 70 feet of my clean walk with the chemically melted ice and hardpac snow out of the street back on to that walk.  In order to pitch it that far, they must have had to hit it at 30MPH or so.

I'm not going out there again (without trinitrotoluene).
