Say what you will about the Valkyrie - Rune (I really like it), but here is a review of a 2004 bike 11 years after it rolled off the line...

Be it the Classic Valk, or the over the top Rune, these ol' gal's still got it  cooldude

I've always liked the Rune for "what it is" and not for "what it could be".
It was not intended as a two up machine, nor was it intended for touring. It is what it is with no pretence of utility.
