I owned it before. Its got 72K on the clock. The guy I sold it to like 2.5 years ago only rode it about 300 miles. Now he wants to sell it, and has had no luck on Craigslist. He told me on Thursday he'd take $3K for it. I am starting to get tempted to low ball him at like $2200. He owns a development company and a few grand to him is almost meaningless. It ran fine when I sold it to him. What have people been actually GETTING for vintage Valks? I see lots of people ASKING $5 to $7K. But lets be honest... are they GETTING that? Here it is when I sold it. It does have a Memphis shield.   Is this a candidate for getting it and doing a bobber or something else fun? Or, is anyone on here interested in a hook up on it? I didn't want to put this in the classifieds, it's not mine. I think it'd be cool to chop the fenders and do drag bars. Just use it as a commuter bike... But I already 2 Valks... and am out of garage space. Can't ride em ALL.  Thoughts? Jabba

Valkyries have sold for 4k-6k on ebay recently, I just looked at sold listings.
I also saw a new Valkyrie, like mine, that went for a little less than 11K ... I have a lot more than that in mine now, especially in sweat-equity, but it is a good bike now...

I'd like a new one... but I really want a Wing first. I LOVE my STD valk. will NOT trade it off. But I don't LOVE the IS. Would like to trade to a new Wing... but the SO is NOT on board with that. I thought about getting a new VALK, and making the STD a crossbreed with the trunk from the IS, and using it as my touring bike with the SO. (She likes the trunk and the backrest of the IS) I don't like the fairing. I dunno. Seems I have had less and less time for riding lately...  Jabba

Thing are strange now. I know I am about to sell my street glide to a friend of mine now that I have my new F6B. Now that I have a new bike I just can,t see owning more than one It is just harder and harder to get the time to ride in this winter weather. shortleg

I really could agree with only really needing the F6B. I love it, but the idea of taking a hit on my beloved Valkyrie that I've put quite a bit of personality into, or parting it out ( much worse) to get decent money for it makes it a non option.

Our much beloved Valkyries as all of us are aware BUT really DO NOT want to acknowledge-are getting older and in todays market place are losing value dollar wise.  TOUGH pill to swallow but there ya is.  There is little doubt in my mind that my Phatt Ghurl could very well be my LAST Motorcycle.  We shall see!  RIDE SAFE.

Hey Jabba, you had any chance to get the SO any saddle time on a Wing? Sugar LOVED the Valk IS, as did I, but once we got saddled up to the wing, she was HOOK'D! I couldn't sell Momma's "rocket couch" now if I wanted to. & if I had any funds, I'd be interested in that bike even at 3k in a heartbeat, 'specially since you know its history. I'd go see what he'd take cause if you tell us how to reach him, that bike will be GONE.

I have to be honest, I'm tempted. I've been saving my money for something special and this is tempting. I could easily make room in the wife's garage if she'll agree to park outside. Yeah, I know that's a big if or, if she'll agree to get rid of all that crap she has stored on the other side where another full sized vehicle is meant to be parked, there'd be a lot of room for another Valkyrie but, then I think about how am I going to ride two Valkyries at once. Another problem is making it mine, customizing as such. Buying the basic bike is easy, putting the stuff on it that I like would cost as much as the bike. So, as tempted as I am, I'm thinking I'm going to let this pass. I'll probably wake up in the middle of a bad nightmare screaming about how silly I was but, it is, what it is.
A man's got to have his priorities ya know. Bump for what appears to be a great deal.

Heck, I see 2 1984 honda V65 magna's in pretty darn good shape for the year asking 3200 and 3500 bucks each. I would think a 1997 honda Valkyrie even though double the mileage at 70K vs. 30K or so on the magna's is worth 3 grand easily.
Maybe I am wrong, but our Valks won't depreciate much more I don't think. I know if I cannot get 7K ever for my 2001 pretty much stock Valk I/S even in black with 30K miles, I will keep it for a very long while. Not much of a bigger touring cycle you can get for under 7 grand out there newer or older in my book.
Jabba, I would make darn sure you test ride the 2001 on up Wings before getting rid of the Valk. I like them no doubt, but much bigger/taller than 6' and 300lbs. (more so in height though), I feel somewhat too far forward and a tad more cramped on the newer Wings than the Valk or the new F6B. The new F6B seems to have a much more laid back, bigger area able to move around more in the saddle than the 1832cc wings have. Am sure though the passenger comfort is better on the Wings vs. the F6B though.

I sold my 02 standard with 160000 miles on it for $3000 and sold the corbin seat w/ backrest for $250 and a few other parts. Total was around $3500. Not enough and I'm sorry I did sell. Kicking myself.

The seating position is one of the reasons I wanted a F6B over a fully dressed Wing. As far as passenger comfort, I'm sure there is some truth to the fully dressed Gold Wing being tops. However, my wife really likes the comfort of our F6B with the Corbin seat.

I have ridden a 2012 Wing. I'll NEVER own another MC again without a Russell Day Long saddle. I have sat on Big Eric from MD's Wing. They can be made to have room for a big fella. All that said, I am pretty tight. I just bought the SO a 2014 Suburban. that'll take a while to pay off.  If I could get the kinks worked out of the IS i'd be OK with it. I think it needs carb work, and I don't want to do it myself. I SHOULD get it to a shop NOW. Jabba

Hope we can share a twisty road again soon. I was just sitting on that seat here in my garage with my feet on the highway pegs and the jamming on some tunes. I just added a sub,amp and new speakers a couple months ago. Sure hate this snow and ice. Definite PMS

I'm not sure if the seat height is any lower or not. I don't think so, however, the shape of the seat is narrower towards the front which allows your legs to not be spread apart as wide as the stocker. So in effect, yes it is easier to reach the ground. The seat does really cradle you butt and feels very natural to me with proper support. I really lucked out on this seat. I bought it from an individual who has gone through several seats looking for in his words,the "Holy Grail of Seats" . He had gone through a Mustang, a RDL and this Corbin. I think the last I knew, he was getting an Ultimate. While having this Corbin, he had had it reupholstered in a black Velour. I find the seat very comfortable for all day riding. The fact I got the seat,both rider and passenger backrests , the OEM brackets for the backrest ( I bought a Standard without these brackets) the OEM luggage rack and brackets (again I bought a Standard without these) and got all this for $450 shipped to my door was AWESOME.
