Its now 7 yrs that she is a survivor We are blessed. Alana did her Chemo at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and has done the Lymphoma walks, including half marathons and volunteer work at the hospital to show kids who are scared that they can WIN and recover and just support them This year she is working with her Alana's Army to help Sloan Kettering in NYC with cancer research. The event is March 7th so there is not much time to get behind her and help the cause. Just 20 yrs ago there were so many cancers that were really bad news as far as chances of living a full life and today progress is made on some of them. We all thank you our friends and VRCC family for your past support ! yes
she is my oldest child
When 14 after Lyme bout she was diagnosed with JRA,
we feared we might be going to lose her then as she could not move without
screaming for pain she could not even eat for months
Doc put her on injections of Embrel and also Methyltrexate pills (chemo pill)
and she could walk more and more
but her fingers were gnarled from the JRA
The week she was moving into her 1st apartment after college and starting a job
she found a lump in her neck and we went immediately to her pediatrician who
sent us to Hospital for cat scan, then the bad news and the rest you know
By the way the job was terrific, they worked around her chemo and she stayed 4 yrs
and still is close with those folks
so not all employers only care about the $
This is also how Bonnie became an Herbalist and Wellness coach. Alana is now free of
all meds, no arthritis, drinks alkaline water and works out 4 times a week at least
and walks a couple of miles every day

Oss, Have you seen that latest HBO cancer special? It's crazy miraculous stuff they are experimenting with at Mayo Clinic and M.D. Anderson. Getting very positive results.
