Saw this CL listing in the Daytona area but don't know anything about these bikes. Would it be worth a look for the right price? http://daytona.craigslist.org/mcy/4896621106.html

Pretty rare old bike, V-4. Engine was said to be powerful and reliable in it's day. If it's cheap, might be a fun project. We all need more projects. I'd say parts would be even more rare.

I'd check some sites and see if parts are even available for it. It looks like it should be dragged across the scales based on the picture.
It would probably be worth looking into if it actually ran or had some minor issue.
If a friend called me and asked if he should buy that bike I would say "Definitely not."

Cool old bikes. They were Suzuki's answer to the V65 and VMax. I believe they were just slightly behind them in performance.

Ya notice they didn't ask price, bet they would take 500 bucks for it tops. If over 1 grand, no way.
If anything like my brother's 1985 suzuki GS550L which I drove more than he did back in the early 1990's, the suzuki engines in that era being cold blooded unlike my 1984 Honda Magna was.
Decent looking bike for the era, not so much in that pic though. The Honda magna's and shadows and yamaha vmax were much better IMO in the 80's.

Suzuki parts are made of unobtainium after about 15 years. I had a '80 GSL 1100 inline, shaft drive Suzuki that spun a starter gear into the crankcase in the mid '90's and had to part it out (no factory or aftermarket parts unless I had them made). The drag circuit liked that engine and frame so I made enough on parts to get an old BSA for the next project.

Yeah, I did some checking as well for parts in general. Guess I'll let it gather some more moss.

John, I see these come up for sale down here a couple times a year. They aren't expensive to get into and they are quite a ride from what I understand.
