Just received an NRA Accident Insurance flyer in the mail along with my annual renewal stuff.  Looks like it covers most accidents, in cars, trucks, as a pedestrian, etc.  Standard exclusions like acts of war, on drugs, active duty military, etc.  No words on Motorcycles.

Anybody have it?  Would it cover you when you check out by someone running you off the road and into a ditch or a tree or the cheese graters?

Ask them directly for a copy of the policy for your review.  Or inquire directly about coverages, liability limits and exclusions.

Yep, SOP.
But with more than a few 2nd Amendment folks around here, thought someone would have checked this out b4.
I've checked out a few other accidental policies, and it was the same; only by calling them multiple times to get ahold of the right sales person can you extract the info...
Sigh.

Knowing the NRA, I expect it is a legitimate offer of insurance with a reputable company.

Precious little detail is provided, but it does seem to piggyback on top of whatever other insurance you have. I carry what I need, and need no more.  If I needed more, I'd get more from my current company.

The only extra insurance I carry, are two or three little $1000 policies offered me for free (I didn't get sucked into buying more, which was what the free stuff was all about).

From 16 to 62, I've had one claim for a stolen (and never recovered) '67 Dodge van in 1973.  I had to practically sue Allstate to give me the $600 it was worth.  All my other premiums during this period bought me nothing but peace of mind. (many cars, bikes, renters, and a home)

I do not count health insurance in this little story.  I have used maybe $3-4k of that, since I first had it in '92.

Insurance is a necessary evil.  Your premiums are a wager or bet that you are going to screw up, or that something bad will happen to you/family or your property, and you fund those wagers all your life hoping to lose every one.

However, the higher your net worth, the more coverage you better have (I'm a shyster, I ought to know, deep pockets are our bidness)  Grin.
