I am way pumped about trying to get Traveller back on the road again.  cooldude

Ordered a bunch of stuff right before I left and my beautiful child bride said that a lot of stuff has come in while I have been here thus far.

Ordered a new sending unit since the old one had a ton of corrosion on it and I may as well put a clean sending unit back in the new "to me" tank.  Ordered a new OEM petcock assembly to replace the Pingle  that I had in the old tank - I wanted to go back to OEM, since I ordered the very sweet engine hanger full coverage covers from Matt (Truckracer) at Carolina Bike and Trike.  (He even remembered me and put a nice note in the order when he sent it).  Already have the seat lock removed from center cover but didn't put them on until I get the tank in and tested.

I will have to reconnect a vacuum hose, but ordered the OEM hose clips already - just need to go to autoparts store and pick up a length of hose when I get home.  Also ordered replacement rubber "baby  bumper thingies" for the saddlebag guides so I will quit scratching my bags when the lid lays over.  (Note - I did try the Tourer hinges that allowed the bags to open forward - but took them off because I like the chrome seat rail - and it wont open with it on there - could have added some spacers I reckon, but what the heck - just ordered 4 more "baby bumper thingies" - since they tend to fall off and you don't notice until the next time you open the bags).  Let's see.......Oh, I ordered a fused electrical distribution block and relay that I will hook up so I have "switched" power to things like riding lights and GPS.

Already have a homemade wiring harness run from the battery area to the fairing while I had the tank off.  I will go from the distribution block (prob mount everything in the manual box by battery).  I put three wire sets in the wire harness, so I can run cigarette lighter (on my handlebars), an accessory outlet for the GPS (inside fairing) which will leave me with one spare.  My running lights are already run previously.  Mounted my GPS from the Vstrom over to the Valk.

Speaking of which, man, I spent hours trying to trace down a problem with the mini-driving lights under my fairing.  I mean I was checking relays and fuses and scratching my head.  When I finally put the voltmeter to the end by the lights, I was getting power after all - so BOTH of my driving (running) lights must have been burnt out at the same time.  I must have, during this rebuild, sent too much current/voltage through the line and burnt the filaments or something.  Anyway, I ordered a set of Cree LED lights - the same that I am running on the Vstrom.  I really like those.  I guess that is part of the stuff that arrived - WHOOO-HOOOO!  Get those mounted when I get home.

After everything is finished, tested and I finally get to run some fuel through her again....I will throw on the engine hanger covers from Matt and test ride it to the store for a FULL TANK.

Hard6 is working on his bike and I will run over and do the MAJOR work that needs to be done - new shoes, syncing the carbs, maybe change timing belts (this one does have over 100k on it) and change the fork seal that is leaking (oh, that should be in as well - ordered a set for me and a replacement set for Hard6 that I owe him from the last fork seal change we did).

MAN, I AM BITING AT THE BIT OVER HERE IN AFRICA!  I can't wait to get home and get to work on Traveller!  I told my better half that I had to have a couple of days for ME so I could get things finished.  I am WAY PUMPED!

We have our rooms for the GOTF, so I have to get her in shape before then.  Then I have a mental issue and feel that I may go INZANE!!!  cooldude

WHOOOOOO-HOOOOOOO!!!!  Come on - days off........this is going to be a long hitch thinking about it.
