Sad day when we loose any military, no matter what the reason.

Prayers for their families.

I'll end up reading the report when its available. I like to find out what happens in every accident. I don't like to second guess a pilot.
But first inclination of mine is to discount the fog.

RIP to the souls lost in this tragic accident.  My sympathies to the families and friends of those lost.

I was onboard the USS Gualcanal (LPH7) back in the 80s and we lost a CH46D and quite a few souls one early morning back then.  Helo transport accidents are not good, no accident of this type is.  It was an early morning accident but there were a few survivors.  Not only is there impact damage, but those twin rotors come down and cut into anything in their path, it was not pretty.

My son, who is a Captain in the Army National Guard, was training at Elgin this past weekend. He and his group were flying around in a couple of Blackhawks when he texted me some pictures. When I heard about the accident this morning I wasn't sure if he was still there or not. Scared the crap out of me. I texted him at 6:00 this morning and he replied...whew.

RIP to the guys and God bless the families  Cry

We're providing a temporary morgue for these Marines and Soldiers at our facility.  We can provide a refrigerated chamber for them.

We received them tonight.  They brought them in two refrigerated trucks.  They told me that they brought in everything that they could find.  They're still searching.

Whatever happened, it was catastrophic and horrific.
