I call bullshit, if this was true the 2 adopted parents would be in prison for child neglect. Sounds like the left using innocent children for political gain over the right.

Evidently it's not against the law in AR. to "rehome" adopted children . It looks like they are trying to change that. Sounds like they were troubled kids and the adopters got in over their heads. I don't think it has anything to do with his politics.

http://www.arktimes.com/arkansas/casting-out-demons-why-justin-harris-got-rid-of-kids-he-applied-pressure-to-adopt/Content?oid=3725371

Found a article on what happened all I can say is it sounds like something out of the exorcist.
Sometimes you just don't know how bad things can get and how quickly.  Shocked Shocked

The wife had cancer and could not take care of these very emotionally challenged girls. The adoption service did warn him of the problem but did not let them live in the house till they adopted them. Once adopted would not take them back. He was also worried he would be charged with abandonment if he just dropped them off putting his 3 biological sons in jeopardy of being taken.

After one of the two younger girls crushed a family pet to death, Harris said, he and his wife were advised by "a therapist, a psychiatrist and a pediatrician" to remove the children from the Harris home. He said he sought DHS assistance at that time but was given none. Almost sounds that they were in fear of their lives since they let the boys sleep in their room.

I hope these guys are not insinuating that they are terrible Christians because of this worst case scenario. If the girls are like Linda Blair anyone without special training and alot of meds and time would be hard pressed to take care of them. It would also look bad and terribly idiotic that they pick this example, to say look how bad Christians are. He looks like a pretty milk toast type of guy and it would be hard for them to imagine what they got themselves into. He didn't use his power as a congressman to try to get the situation handled which also speaks of a pretty honest guy. I would wonder how many of the sob's in congress would not use their power and position to pursued people.

An emotional Rep. Justin Harris (R-West Fork), his wife at his side, told reporters at a press conference last week that he sent his two adopted daughters to live with another family, where one of them was later sexually abused, because he would have faced abandonment charges by the state.

Responding to the Arkansas Times' report that uncovered Harris' "rehoming" of his children, the state legislator said he was "failed" by the Department of Human Services when he told employees the girls were too difficult for the family to handle. He said DHS' threat to charge him with abandonment could have cost him custody of his three biological sons (and, though he did not say so, could have cost him his business as well, Growing God's Kingdom preschool). The lawmaker also said DHS "misled" him about severe behavioral issues with the girls. He said they suffered from reactive attachment disorder, a condition sometimes occurring among children with unstable backgrounds that results in severe emotional and social problems.

WHAT A CLUSTER F. It looks like everyone screwed up on that case.

I feel for the kids, they did nothing to deserve being born into the original mess.

I feel for the adoptive parents because it looks like there is a witch hunt going on in order to make them look worse than they really have been. Maybe they should not have been able to adopt them, that is hind sight.

But it sure looks like their Human Services department needs an overhaul.

Guys,

I'm a lifelong Arkansan. My political leanings are immaterial.

This ain't politics:

We all know how to use Google. Do a little research before jumping to conclusions.

Some Background:
The "Arkansas Times"  is a left-leaning tabloid, free at the grocery checkout. The  "Arkansas Democrat - Gazette" is the state's leading newspaper owned by Walter Hussman, a conservative Republican.  Of these two publications, the Gazette is the most journalistically responsible. Asa Hutchinson is the newly elected Republican Governor. Our legislature is currently in session and is Republican controlled.

Facts:
Representative Harris & his wife each have post grad degrees in early childhood education; they earn their living operating a child care undertaking called "Growing God's Children" or some such similar name; Harris & wife billed the State 3+ million last year in subsidies, etc. related to their enterprise; Harris & wife have been called on the carpet several times for disregarding that old saying about "separation of church & state"; this past month, hen introduced a bill in the State Legislature for the sole, specific singular purpose of "legalizing" pre-schoolers saying "Merry Christmas" to one another (there is no record of anyone having ever objected to our youngsters saying Merry Christmas to one another); many Democrats and a lesser number of Republicans are publically condemning Harris; no one, republican or democrat is supporting Harris; most legislators are surprised many are shocked that Harris's conduct was not illegal; almost immediately after learning that it was not illegal,  widely supported bipartisan legislation was introduced to declare it a felony; such conduct is a felony in +/- 30 States; and finally, lapsing into opinion instead of fact, you just gotta see this twerp invoking scripture and crying for the cameras.

It has been suggested that he was afraid to stir up a stink about reversing the adoption with the Department of Human Services, his 3 1/2 million dollar honey hole, so he simply gave the children to a former employee, who raped one of them. Harris also continued to collect  +/- $1,500.00 / month the State was paying him for the children (I can't imagine why - most people I know financially support the children they adopt) but at some point, he did begin to cash the checks and hand over the cash each month to the guy who raped the little girl.

Harris doesn't even come close to passing the smell test; Republican, Democratic, Christian, Atheist, Liberal or Conservative.

Research this for yourself & form your own conclusions.

I personally think there are more similarities than differences
Both were decisions
Both the outcome was unknown but suspected
Both cost dearly in the lives of those affected
Both created intense controversy
Both are going to need healing to get over the damage
Both decisions were made out of the idea how to change things
Both were bad decisions made maybe by those who had more than one motive
The differences are the girls healing begins now but the nations has another couple of years
One decision effected 20 people one effects 320 million
One decision has been apologized for one has not and continues
So when you vote I say its as an important decision as any that you make.
So in both decisions it would have been better if all were more well informed.
I hold both responsible for their decisions
So the answer to your question is yes.
Since the suffering or to put it in stronger language, "the raping of a nation" continues and the pain and suffering being inflicted affects more and has cost each person dearly and it continues unabated.
