Salt or no salt, got mine out yesterday, if nothing else just to do some errands.  Can not pass up 60o days in March.  This is the earliest I've been out as long as I can remember.  But my memory is getting shorter...

I've seen a few out there riding in the salt, mostly sport bikes. I'll wait for the first good rain to come through myself.

I finally got out and rode 2 wheels today,  my scooter though since is all plastic won't rust like that chrome on the Valk.  Man, felt odd sitting so high up on the scoot for a change, almost forgot what it felt like.

Took an easy though since tons of sand and gunk on the roads probably best to not have as much power and weight and speed into the corners and at stops.  No flushing rains in the next 7 or more days either and then back down to normal in the 40's as is normal this time of year.  I hear pushing 70 by Monday, but still just the scooter will come out then as well.

It's very odd going though from riding a 350lb. 249cc scoot flicking it around like a bicycle and then jumping on my big boy bike Valk I/S at 800lbs.  I really have to almost re-learn how to drive the Valk since is no lightweight after just getting done on the scoot.

I actually enjoy riding each almost as equals since the scoot is so easy to drive and handle shorter 20-30 miles distances, but the Valk puts more of a smile on my face since has taller windshield and music and MORE power.

I actually today hit my first big bug SPLAT on my helmet, made me smile.  Wink

Son and I returned from snow goose hunting in N-W MO to home Central IL and saw several bikes travelling as we crossed MO. Not so much closer to home.

I saw a couple yesterday too.  Still have very tall snowbanks on the side of the roads as well as sand and salt... Not bringing my lady out till it's swept and rains a bit.  Danger Danger Will Robinson!.

As soon as it hits  50 and the roads are mostly dry I start riding
Ya there is some salt dust around but when I get home, since I have a hose hook-up in the garage, and a pressure washer its no problem.
So far been out 4 times alittle over 400 miles to date, lots more to come.

Arizona is reversed. We have been riding all Winter - and the temps have already topped 90F...(much earlier than normal).  I'll be headed for the hills soon.  Literally.

Be careful on those Spring roads.  I lived in Massachusetts for many years.

I was 72 on Monday . Rode about 60 miles and it felt great. Wanted to ride the older gas out of it so I could put a bottle of techron in it.

I wanna get the Valk out regardless of tons of salt and sand on the roads in WI, but my backup scoot will suffice for now being all plastic.

I looked though at extended forecast and doesn't look like NO rain all of next week either, so might be a go on Valk one way or the other since had to put up WAY too early in November 2014 due to cold weather.  5 months on old gas even if 91 octane NO ethanol sitting in the tank full even with stabil and seafoam can't be a good thing?

Usually by around now we at least get a few rains in the 40's for temps when all the snow is finally gone (or 95% of it at least).  A few days ago reaching 73 degrees was SOOO tempting regardless of salt/sand all over but now back into the 40's for highs is all for another week so will wait until temps get back into the 50's for highs at least.

Best thing, for me at least,  I love wearing shorts all the time if over 50 degrees for highs.  Or should I say I hate wearing pants all winter long.

Pretty much every spring my Valk has sat for five months with a full tank of stabilized fuel, and it has always started.  Some years required more cranking than others, but it's never failed.
