Kinda  the last days here for me ,  headed to Midland/Odessa to slave oil pipeline work  , its a good paycheck and  goin to Texas  is a good thing- great girls  and friendlys.

Beautiful day here, no wind , so I  geared up , and headed for Devils Tower .

when you  come up for the ride IZ. ,  after you past the lake  theres a straight stretch of rode without  a   bump , heading N ,  that's the stretch where you can let your FatGirl sing .  113 my latest , but Im just getting broken in ,  Im new.

I get to devils tower , take my gear off   to take the walk around the Tower ,  and look my Valkyrie over and check tires for nails etc.    , and theres a screw in the front tire.

sitting right up lookin at me.

I pull a leatherman out and thought it might be a small short screw and no all the way thru.   So I work it a little and air comes out ,  so I leave it in.  I check the air pressure on the marathon 880 and its 40 psi.   I say  ,  I  will leave the screw in and take it home at 45 mph.

I made it home , was a slow trip.

The tire is about 60 percent ,  and has some some cracks on the inside tread line.  Im gonna order a new tire  and feel safe , have to do 130 on  MY FAT GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had no work this winter and had a major case of the ass ,  if I offended anyone here , I truly apologize  .   always ,    weeder and his fatgirl.

p.s. (I carry a plug kit and airpump and coulda fixed it there .)

I'll be cursed, you can be coherent! I'd started to think you were smokin' glue2funny
Glad ya made it back safe. If that tires still got some life left in it & the hole was in the tread (not sidewall) I'd rope plug it & run the sh1t out of it. Course, I'm not quite right to begin with!

so, did you still walk all the way around Devils Tower or think otherwise thinking you best be getting home ASAP since you knew you were going to have to drive slower to be safer?

I wouldn't chance a plug/patch on any cycle tire for no more than just getting you home,  for sure not the front tire where most of your controlled steering is.

That reminds me I best be calling next week the cycle shop to replace my OEM tires on my 2008 scooter with 11,100 miles on it.  Both tires have a tad bit of tread left, but the rubber has tons of hairline cracks in the grooves which worry me, but tires still hold air just fine.  Need to get done very soon for I never have had a blowout while riding a cycle and don't want to find out.
