I hope to travel from Toledo to Colorado Springs this summer. It looks like my options for a major portion of the trip are us 24, us 36, or 136. Does anyone have experience or knowledge or these routes.
Any advice or suggestions as to road, traffic, scenic, acommedations. Maybe even camping.  I of course would like to avoid E-ways, but only if these or some other alternitives offer a better ride in some respects.
Thnx.

I've been across Missouri and Kansas on 36.  It's good road.

What parts of US 24 I've been on are good road too.

Yep Hwy36 AKA The Pony Express Hwy is my go-to road for crossing KS. Good in MO too.  And there's at least one true motel (you park by your door) in every town.  Take Hwy 9 close to Phillipsburg KS, diagonal down to 83, 24, then to I-70, West to Limon then pick up 24 there to Co Springs. Yeah that's 139 miles on the slab but the rest of the rte is scenic, state & fed 2-lane.
