3........ This sign was very popular later. it appears in a lot of pics from vets of the Korean War.

You could run around with your hands in your pockets?

We couldn't.  If we did and got caught they filled our pockets with rocks and sewed them shut.    They got heavy.   Trust me, you only do it once.

I have a picture of that sign somewhere also.   Don't have a clue where it is, it might have went through the flood in mom's basement where a lot of my stuff, (clothes, pictures, dress blues and etc) got destroyed.   My car was in the basement and it got a good mouth full of water in the engine, transmission and rear end.   Interior was totally destroyed.   Insurance low balled me on the car and they ended up with it.

Sorry for the hijack Wayne.

RJ, we only had that chicken s*** in basic training. You probably noticed that my pocket was unbuttoned BUT my GI buckle was centered with the shirt buttons.  Now if I would've been the mailman on that day instead of the driver,  I could've looked more gung ho since the mailman was allowed to carry a loaded .45 in a GI holster on a web belt. Frigging dumbarse medic rules.

Reminds me of watching  a Marine 2nd Looey clearing his 1911 .45 before entering the PX in Seoul.  He cleared it by shooting a hole in the roof. Even Marines make mistakes. Grin

I already have made an 8x10.  I'll frame it and put it on my new coffee table as a reminder.

Thanks for the suggestion.

A slow day. Back in 1954 here is how I came back from Korea. Luckily, none of us got sea sick so we didn't travel by rail Grin

I had the honor of having one of my pics on the front page of Graybeards Magazine. The KWVA organization (I'm a Life member).

I titled this AMERICA, THE BEAUTIFUL!   A welcome sight passing under the Golden Gate on the troopship, with two rainbows making it even better.

Yeah, I also get gnats when i hear "The Stars and Stripes" played by a military band.

Ross, you'll really need glasses after this pic. Dennis, I was lean but too skinny to be mean!   Basic training, bivouac, 1952.  I had no fat at all, then.

And to finish it off. Here is a pic of me and my friend, the other geezer, RJ, taken about six years ago at the CBR in Indiana, when we both were younger and in better health. Now it's motorcycle related Smiley

RJ was in Korea before me.  He was a Marine and received five Purple Hearts.  I had it easy, he didn't!
