I moved up to Virginia from Florida. I see by the site they have a chapter here. Does anyone know if they do rides here? Florida had something going on every week.

Whatever it is, it's better in the wind.

On a road less traveled.

Greg, first off welcome to the insane asylum.
What part of VA are you in?
I am not sure that the VA chapter is even active, I have not heard or seen any post from a VA chapter. However there are many good folks in VA that ride and get together occasionally.

I am in Norfolk. I spent my whole Naval career trying to stay away from here. Then after I retired I ended up in Norfolk.

Hi Greg,
We live in Suffolk, VA and I'm retired Navy too. We ride with a local Goldwing group.  We've gone to Valkyrie rides put on by Smokin Joe in West Virginia,  North Carolina,  and Tennessee and Eric from Western Maryland and InZane when it was in Asheville,  NC. Send me a PM and I will give my phone number and we can get together.  Welcome to the board.

^ Ditto, what Dan said, except for the retired Navy part and the riding with a Goldwing group part, heh heh.

I commute to Norfolk every day from E-City.
Look for the old black goldwing with stickered up ammo cans for saddlebags.....in the HOV lane.

^That ought to get your blood pumping, look at all those curves, most routes are just a tank of gas or so away.....

That's familiar Greg.  I was USAF for 9, and they tried to send me to DC twice, and had to fight with them to avoid it.  Then after the Air Force, guess where I ended up.  In Northern VA (Fairfax County), working a block behind the whitehouse for 18 years.  (GAG)

I don't get down your way unless I am heading to NC/TN.  But if you guys down South ever do a VA rider's hookup, I'd try to make it.  I am hooking up with the FL guys in Maggie Valley NC the end of May.

There has been no active VA VRCC chapter since 2005 that I ever heard of.  I found this years ago, but that was it.

Anytime that you want to leave the "flat lands" and head to the mountains give me a shout, I'll be glad to meet up and share some wind.
