Hi all. I am looking for some front tire advice.

I currently have a Austone taxi tire on the rear of my bike and i am very impressed. I chose the Austone taxi tire for the rear because it seemed to be the smoothest transition from a motorcycle tire to a car tire.

I am now planning to replace my front tire with a rear motorcycle tire. Is there a tire any one could recommend to be a good first front tire? i am hoping to have a smooth transition just like i had with the Autone taxi tire. I currently have a Metzler marathon which wore out way too fast. I barely got a full season out of it...

I often ride two up, hit twisty roads hard, and see over 100 mph frequently on my Valkyrie.

Double dark-side all the way!!!

I have had real good luck with the 130/90/17 Dunlop 404 rear tire mounted in reverse rotation.

THE Luke Skywalker, front, is what the good guys run.

Darth Vader Prefers to run a tubeless, VW Tire on the front. Mounted in reverse.

JUST KIDDING.

Have fun.

So have I.
Except, the shop mounted in regular rotation.

over 100mph frequently near Albany NY ?  That means either the northway or 88 or Thruway

That area is swarming with State Police both marked and unmarked

What radar detector are you using and do you have a laser diffuser?

I am currently running  a Michelin Pilot activ Rear (Michelin Pilot Activ Rear Tire - 130/70-17) and like the ride a lot better than the k491 which has the same tread as the 404. Much smoother ride without the extended break in period. And I rode two of the K491's to 30k each on two different Valks.

The main reason I reverse the tire, is that I'm a bit concerned that the water channels on the treads will funnel water under my tire causing it to loose traction if they are not angled downward from a front view, like a "normal" front tire's water channels are pointed.  I want my front tire to displace water to the outside to minimize the possibility of hydroplaning.

I agree, although I do not think it is really much different.  I asked the tire to be mounted reverse, but they did not.  I live 60 miles from the shop, and my wife picked up the new mounted tire.  I did not bother taking it back to get it reversed.
