A 72 year old motorcyclist was killed by pot smoking 24 year old.  Another case of failure to yield to the right of way.  No valid license. Bet no insurance either.

Ride like they're trying to kill you...cause they are.

I'm too old to die to die young.

My 2 rules about riding -

#1 - Ride like you're invisible

#2 - They ARE out to get you

When I was full time in the high seat of my 18 wheeler I was some what protected compared to what I do now-ride. The sheer stupidity of some folks out there-young and old-NEVER ceases to amaze me at times. And these riders dying out in the wind ARE NOT just dying from alcohol and drugs-far too many other factors distracting todays drivers. Texting and yaking on the cell phone come immediately to mind. These ego centric ass wipes that THINK-wrongly I might add-that they can do whatever AND drive prove everyday they can't and as a result they drive worse than they normally would and we and others-DIE because of the assumed belief than they can multi task behind the wheel. Yet another bro or two or three that I never knew die due to other folks ego and stupidity!  Lips Sealed  Cry And the attorney general of the city-county-state need to quit making plea deals. Vehicular homicide-go to jail for 25 years and do at least 24 years and 364 days. Don't give a rats ass who you are or how old or young you are-go to jail and pay for your crime(s). Apologize for the rant but this is one of the things-needless riders deaths-that I am passionate about. RIDE SAFE.

Last year a long time family friend of ours was killed while riding his Harley by a young girl that ran a stop sign.

She didn't just pull out in front of him, she flat out ran him over.

He was 70 years old, served two tours in Viet Nam as a Ranger, he came back and served as a Drill Sgt, he retired from the Army after 20 years. He was very active in the Masons, the VFW and the Patriot Guard.

The girl that killed him was the teenage dope head daughter of a cop.

She has never been publicly named or charged.

The sad fact is:

Not only are the idiots in their cages out to get us, but when they do the authorities don't care.

To them we are Nothing but Scooter Trash.

THEN WHY IS IT THAT WHEN A FUND RAISER IS NEEDED , THEY SOLICIT THE BIKERS.
Illinois passed a hands free law. If I was a LEO , I would have writers cramp or carpal tunnel (computer tickets) from all that I see every day.

With todays technology , If you are in the drivers seat , your phone should only work for emergencies.

Friday and Saturday I had people pull in front of me.  Close calls but I was lucky.
On the phone issue I saw that Chevrolet is putting in a device for one touch control of the cell phone.
The technology to cancel phone signals is there but who's going to buy a car that does that?
Summer is just beginning, be careful out there.
