Don't know where 50 or so came from, but what a pain.

Yep, they appear in the house on and off even through the winter. Had at least thirty in one of the shop windows yesterday. Man, I hate those bugs. They are not native lady bugs but an invasive species brought here to eat aphids on soybean plants the way I understand it. Horrible creatures, they stink when you mash them, they sometimes bite and.... If one fly's into your hot drink and you don't notice it, well just let me say it imparts a nasty taste similar to the smell when you mash them.

about 5-6 years ago I had an infestation of those eurasion lady beetles in my basement with 1,000's and 1000's crawling all over the wooden rafters in the basement.  Went to my local farm and fleet and bought a jar of chemicals you mix with water in a spray bottle.  Sprayed the heck out of them being bit several times in the process flying all over, but got 95% of them dead and gone.

We get them every year, but nowhere near as bad as that one year, was horrible and stunk up the basement a long time.  I can stand the horrible smell, but the rest in the family cannot.  Spent a few more hours sucking them all up in the old vacuum cleaner  stinking even more so - yuck!

My neighbors, unlike me,  get those other beetles that I think are worse all over by the 1,000's on their vinyl siding that have the same body shape as a firefly but don't light up.  I think the reason why I don't get them as much as others is I power wash with vinyl siding solution my vinyl siding every 2 years or so where others do not.

If you have them in a specific location all over, I can try finding the chemical bottle somewhere in my basement since there is a specific ingredient that is made to kill that type of bug and others.

I have seen no increase in ladybugs, but last year these stink bugs started showing up in my house on occasion (not an invasion, just the occasional lone wolf).  They have some miraculous ability to climb thru my window and screens (hi tech CertainTeed windows).  I generally stun them, then provide them burial by toilet, and I can't say they really stink.  Hard to understand how they squeeze through really tight spaces since they are armored.

Ha, you beat me to it Mike.

WE had a lady bug problem, until these guys showed up.

I'd rather have the lady bugs.

Well now, that explains it.   Sad

Oh Well, there isn't room in my house for all of them and me.
Looks like it's gonna be a long year.   Wink

No bug problems...even living in Florida.

The townhome association pays for an exterminator to come around on a regular basis.

Shop vacuum. Then a little flour to smother them. Then donate to the local sanitation engineer .
