Will 130/80 17 fit on the front of our valks? I want to try the new Metzeler ME888 and this is the closest size i could find that they make. currently i am using a 160/80 17 but its the older style ME880. The new ME888 is suppose to last longer from what i have read.

The difference should just be narrower? Would that be an issue?

There will be a difference in height too, 80% of 130mm (104mm) as opposed to 80% of 160mm (128mm) diff of 30mm in width & 24mm in sidewall height.
That's gonna be one skinny tire on the Fat Girl!
I'm jus' sayin', she aint gonna handle like you're used to.

Smaller in diameter and circumference. AND the speedometer reads off the front wheel on our Valkyries. There was another 130-80-17 for sale in the classifieds but I don't believe it was the one yer talkin about. Should work bit it is smaller than the 150-80-17 that comes on our Phatt Ghurls. I'm going with a 140-80-17 Shinko 777 white wall for my new front tire. IF you do use the new triple 8 let us know how it works out please!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

I was thinking about starting a thread asking about people's experience with the ME 880 vs ME 888.

It looks like I may need a new rear soon and was interested in any experience that others may have with them.

As for the front, I have a ME 880 on the front now and love it.

It's a great wet weather tire, and looks like it will last.

At 4k miles the tread still looks nearly new.

The rear is at about half with the same miles.

I am just now ordering an 880 to replace the one I currently have on. It has 14000 plus miles. O2S and I left IZ14 and went north thru the mountains before heading west to go home. We ran into several rain storms and the last one was a gulley washer ( laymans language for a down pour) that we rode thru and on the downside of the mountain , a 4X4 had rolled over from the road conditions or sheer stupidity. We continued on and were running 45 t0 65 MPH most all the way.Once out of it , we stopped for coffee and drier clothes as the rain gear helped , but still needed to warm up.

Yes , I am going to use another Metzler 880 on my bike with the Ultimax dark side.

Hi all,

I need a new front tire again and wanted to know if anyone ended up trying the new Metzeler ME888 out? The closest size is a 130/80-17 and was hoping not to be the test dummy on this lol

Thanks!
