Another good quote from the article:
Liberals need to understand the reality that rarely penetrates their bubble. Non-liberal Americans (it’s more than just conservatives who are under the liberal establishment’s heel) are the majority of this country.
I was one of those non-liberal Americans. (I've swung too far to the right to try and consider myself a moderate any more.)
I had, and still have some concerns about some of the positions of those riding the great pachyderm. But those concerns pale to absolute insignificance compared to the, not merely un-American, but actual anti-American direction those jackasses have taken us. They (those concerns) play absolutely no part in my voting decisions.
And I don't think I'm alone. I'm a part of a large and largely silent group that swung marginally to the left in the last election. I think we've been horrified at what we got and have moved significantly back to the right. I know I have. But these are the folks who won't post a lot of political stuff on their facebook pages, or on forums. You won't really know where those folks stand until they hit the voting booth.
In the meantime, those solidly on the left and right continue to make the same amount of noise giving the impression that not much has changed. Like water slowly seeping into the bilge of a ship, the warning signs can be subtle. I believe that 2014 was just such a subtle sign. The captain of the donkey ferry would have to taken notice and immediate corrective action to prevent the boat from sinking. I don't see that happening.
