Getting into a little wreck with my scoot today really throws off a glorious day of riding. First time it was t-shirt weather.  tickedoff Heading over to a nearby HD dealer to see whats going on.  A roof of a chicken coop (3'x3' 3/4" plywood) flew out of a truck and into my lane. Saw it blow out and said f*** as it hovered. I leaned right a little as it floated with me. Smacked it flat at 60 mph. Made a loud crack. As I pulled off I saw my turn signal hanging off like a limp dick. Called the Co and did a report. Damage to my front fender, turn signal, crash bar, left lower fork, left fork guard, fairing bra has a scuff, fairing wind deflectors are scuffed and chipped the paint of the saddle bag. Rode fine home but front tire rubs in hard leans. I'm glad it was flat cause if it was on edge I prob woulda went down. I wasn't hurt either. Didn't scare me as I had about 1 1/2 sec to prepare for impact.  crazy2 Wont be able to match the custom paint so I'll hopefully end up with a new paint job.  Grin

Certainly could have been much worse dude!  Glad you are ok.......I would try to settle with the company without claiming your insurance, they may just want to write a check to make it all go away......just get enough to fix it before you agree.

The lady said she had ins. Officer said to contact mine and go from there. I can live with the bra and lower forks but def need new fender, fork protector, turn signal and crash bar.Told the GF since I ride this to work maybe their ins will give me a HD rental while mine gets painted.  Grin

Im use to a limp dick  Grin

They have a shop tht sells 'imports' and I was gonna see about putting the shadow over there to sell.

The paint...yea it will. I was gonna have it redone in a few yrs anyway but as a solid color. Cop told me he has info on a local FF that does custom bike painting. Cop told me that I looked familiar and I said yes, you slim jimmed my ambulance a week ago.  2funny

Hey it is only a bike, I am glad to hear you are OK, maybe some new underwear may help. It is allot easier to wrench party on your bike, then it is to wrench party on you.

You walked away and that is the important part, all else is water under the bridge. I have had the misfortune of having seen similar incidents with much worse results. Someone upstairs was at your side when you run over flying roofs and can tell all of us about it later.

Personally speaking, I'd say you can count your blessings.    Could have been much worse.   Glad it wasn't.

skip the HD partition to sell the honda shadow.

after all, it is a Honda and should be able to sell it easily all on your own.

glad it turned out almost as best as possible scenario for hitting that plywood head on vs. nearly flat could've been much more terrible.

I've had stuff fly off trucks/trailers, etc. going down the road, even once a couch and cushions.  I stay far away in back NEVER tailgaiting, even if driving the cage.  Heck,  even once I had a wooden 8' ladder strapped down in the bed of my truck fly off going down the hwy. as well once as my 10' flat bottom jon boat sliding out of my truck when I stepped on it a tad too hard from takeoff going up a hill.  Anything can happen even if you think the straps will do the job.

Glad to hear you didn't get hurt. That could have been a bad one. The scoot can be fixed.
