Have you ever noticed? The subject is Advertisements OC Choppers , Arms Folded, a Scowl on their faces. Ice Road Truckers, Arms folded, a Scowl on their faces. Pawnbrokers, Arms Folded, a Scowl on their faces. Numerous motorcycle ads, the same. American Rifleman, May issue, , page 39, Arms folded, a scowl on their faces. The arms folding thing must be tied to the scowl. The new Aerostitch catalog, page 14 Arms folded, a Scowl on his face. however on page 17, arms NOT folded and no scowl but a smile. The only things that i can figure out is maybe !. It's a "I'm a tough guy" thing. 2."I've had a bad day so don't mess with me" That doesn't set very well with a motorcycle ad. 3. OR, as my mom used to say' " They've got a fart stuck crosswise" 4. The scowl reflex must be tied into the folded arms thing somehow. Generally the arm folders have shaved heads and a beard. However, the Aerostitch guy has a full head of hair so nothing to be pissed off about there. Heck, i even saw one ad with a LADY with arms folded. I won't even guess on that one. I guess that's the latest thing just like pics of women models, skinny as heck, and their pose is bent all out of shape. OK, you guys with shaved heads and beards, I'm jess funnin' Wayne, solo1

And watch the way they walk across the fashion runway. Its no wonder they look mad, I would be too if I had to walk like that.

I believe crossed arms is body language for being unapproachable. So I guess the pawn pussies, biker bullies, etc. don't want anyone's business.

Yeah Steve, that is also my take. I was joking but the players seem to think that it helps sells things (macho bs)
A thumbs up and a smile gives me a better impression.

That seems to work in person but generally comes across as insincere in marketing products via media... Probably why our politicians do it so much (image is from the movie "Dogma")

Yah, in that pic, don't tick her off, am impressed! Both seem approachable to me since both have a smile on their faces, although she might not for long holding up a fellow for that long. Is the typical biker pose, leather chaps and the whole nine yards. Even hot young skinny females advertising biker clothing seem like they have a 'don't touch me' look on their faces. Well, if I cannot touch the merchandise (clothing that is?), how do you expect me to see if it is any good? You won't see me with leathers, etc. on riding, don't fit that style of living having to spend 100's in clothing just to ride a bike. I did buy for 50 bucks on sale a new armor protected cycle jacket though a few years ago, but only because it was clearanced at 50 bucks vs. msrp of over 200.

I was doing the shaved head and beard thing a long time ago. NOT a fashion statement cause I don't know nor do I care to learn bout a "fashion statement"! Head be shaved cause I found out in South Eastern Colorado summers I felt way cooler working construction. Far as that stance goes-it's an I DARE you to not only approach but I DARE you to TRY to pass. Yup-gives me a warm fuzzy when I see it! RIDE SAFE.

Because if they're looking all mean and stuff, then that makes 'em look more badass-ish. And if they look like a badass on the bike they're selling, then maybe you can be that badass on a bike too. (singing to the Dr Pepper song).....They're a badass, we're all badasses, wouldn't you like to be a badass too. I don't like the badass stuff myself. I'm a firm believer that sex sells more stuff.
