Evan-couple of professions where you can be wrong over half the time and sill keep yer job and get still be paid- ... Truthfully, the weather forecasters are almost never wrong. They are, in fact, giving you the chances. Unless the forecaster is foolish enough to give either a 100% chance or 0% chance of rain he cannot be proved wrong. As to good days and bad days, weather wise, that's all subjective and in the view of the individual, isn't it? Glad you got to ride, Counselor. That does make it a good day, no?

Frozen mix statewide and snow to 7,000 feet (I'm at 7,703) predicted for Colorado all this weekend. Riding has been very limited this spring, a true test of patience. S'pose it's beyond my power to do much about it. Like the Ozark Mountain Daredevils sang, It'll shine when it shines (I'm just a good ol' boy that's learned to wait).

After getting up into the 70's last weekend, it's been much colder and damper here this week. Correctly raining but we have had white stuf. I have the bike apart in perpetration of installing heated grips next week, hopefully Monday or Tuesday...

A suggestion of checking either the"Weather Underground" website or the NOAA website; they seem to give me the best information on local and regional forecasts for long and short terms. Weather Underground are amateur weather stations manned by your neighbors who have no stake in the game except to give just the basics of reporting what's happening in their back yard. I like'em because they are real time numbers. TV weathermen/women? They come and go like, well...the weather. ??? Thing is though, mount up and you take your chances with the skies no matter where you are.

It's been raining on and off 'round here for a weeks now. But when it's not raining, it's been beautiful. Trouble is, I've had too many health issues lately to ride.

Funny but I had consulted weather.com Hourly predictions for 8am to 8pm
If the worst thing is I was tricked into riding I still had a great day
Cold weather dont bother me none, its the lightning and snow and ice that do
Thanks for the replies

I'm a wuss, anything 30% chance of rain and over, I don't ride to work, etc.
I figure the weatherman's 30% is more like 99% correct most of the time.
Never had too many days of 10% slight chance of rain or under and it rained for more than a sprinkle or two.
I guess depends on the state though. I visited Alabama/Florida border a few years ago on vacation and amazed me the sun was out and it was raining on one side of the road while the other side was completely dry and then 20 minutes later, the rain stopped and sun still out. I asked the locals if this type of unexpected shower is common, and they said happens all the time, they are use to it.

Sure, the weather guys hedge their bets when it comes to rain and snow, but what about sunny days? Never hear them call for 40% chance of sunny. Our esteemed Counselor was PROMISED AND ENSURED of a GREAT DAY and was DENIED! DENIED I TELL YOU! And you defend the lying basta... um.. weathermen? I believe the evidence of lying by the weather industry is plain, abundant, and self evident. I would even go as far as to label it a conspiracy of the highest order. That's right. The weather guys are against us. Jim Cantore is their secret weapon. Notice it is always storming where ever he goes. And the times they get it right is just them messing with us.

Well Seth, it's cold and pissy over here in Montrose today so I figured I'd go ahead and do the rear end O-ring thing and change the shock bushings while I'm at it. Just doing my thing in the garage and think to myself; plenty'O time, I'll go ahead and polish the wheel while I'm at it..... "where's that tube of MAAS polish?? " needless to say I had to use the NeverDull cause the good polish is in Gunnison!! All went well, guess rainy days are good for bonding....
