I've actually stopped reading the political posts, Obama posts, and Hillary posts on this forum. I usually read while having my coffee in the morning, and sometimes I get so pissed off at the crap these losers are pulling, that it's hard to bring myself back down! Not the way to start my day, so I'm taking a break from reading anything to do with politics. I know they are screwing us, but I'll hope election time we can throw em out before we lose the entire country!

Don't mean to mess up your coffee. If I may suggest, you may not have to wait till election day to express your opinions, concerns or even take action. In place now we have local, state and federal officials that represent us. This is our local Government, and our State and Federal Congress. We can write a letter or email and in some cases we may call them. I my self have taken advantage of this option, with success. I understand the frustrations of politics, but you must be reasonable and think smarter. Now think about this!!! If our Rep. does not know we have concerns, then they can not act on them, correct!!! They are not mind readers, and it is our fault if we assume they understand there is a problem. I have simple method, I send emails and kind of rule of thumb they will return a form letter of email, which tells me they are aware of my concerns.  In some instances I do not get a return communication, I than in turn send another letter/email twice if needed. If then there is no response, then I send a last letter. This last letter politely explains what I tried to submit and was ignored, and that I will surly not vote for them and will share my experience with other voters.  This quit often will get a rise, but I won't vote for them anyway.  From your experiences you have to understand the phrase "out of sight, out of mind" which basically means " No news is good news' so things must be going well.   Just think about it!!! If people don
t tell you things, do you know??   Also if you do send communication, don't attack, accuse, or speculate negative comments, always present it as a questions or possible concerns. other wise it may end up in the trash!!

My wife spent 20 years working for the NYS legislature.  My comments to many members were usually not well received. I guess one of my many personal flaws is not caring what I say to anyone.

But, getting back to the OP, I understand. It does make life easier to just back off and stay away from certain topics at times. Politicians rely on that though.

I used to have the news on all day long.  Nearly everything out of the WH and from his cronies pissed me off so much my parrot learned some bad words and started repeating them at bad times like when we had company.  And now lately reports on the Hildabeast's scandals and the worry that we are headed from the frying pan into the fire.  I can't believe all the moonbats who will support her if she puts on a black cape and hat and starts travelling on a broom.

Lately by email and online I see reports and speculation that the Kenyan socialist dictator won't finish his term for one reason or another - I'll leave that undefined here.  But I'll hope along with those reports.  And worry what will happen if Shotgun Joe gets the pen and phone.  I think he's too stupid to do much damage though. Those reports carry about as much weight as supermarket tabloids.

Now that I have Sirius with Howard Stern I put that on during the day instead and even though he's vulgar he doesn't piss me off.  And I get a laugh now and then.  He had 3 porn stars on yesterday who competed on a most stupid contest.  I actually learned something - that at least those 3 never wear knickers except when wearing jeans because the latter pinch their twinkies - "Let her breathe" said one, while "It's wonderful in a skirt" said another.  Hmm.  Where were these girls when I was in high school?

Still catch the evening news, and O'Reilly.  Gets my blood pressure up again.  But Miller and Waters provide some levity...

I too like Dennis Miller. I guess what I like most is that when he lived in NYC as a member of SNL his was a flaming NYC liberal, but, somewhere along the line that changed and he has become a pretty diehard conservative.

The old saying, ' if you're not a liberal at 20 you have no heart, but, if you're not a conservative by 50 you have no brain', comes to mind.
I think there is a reason why so many of these old sayings have withstood the test of time.

You might not be interested in politics, but politics are very interested in you.
Think how surprised you'll be when the tide turns and you're not aware.
What a shock when the dictum comes out to turn in your firearms and assemble at the rail station.
OR, where to muster to end the cluster. The coup is already in place.
Either way, vote.

I know what you mean, guys. It just pisses me off to work hard, do your part (paying taxes), and watch these low life's steer the whole country into a ditch. They give money to people that don't want to work, countries that are terrorist, and people having kids that don't even take care of them. I mean really! Just a few rants, how about taking our guns, allowing nukes to Iran, lost emails and Bengazi with no repercussions, Obamacare (which increased my deductibles and premiums), and hundreds more......it is very frustrating!

I thought that looked like a normal day at Higgs beach in Key West !  What I thought odd though was that they had too many clothes on.
