Hey gang,
My name is paul and I live in White Rock, BC. Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I'm a teacher (close to retiring) so I get loads of time each summer to tour. The weather around here is pretty good so I am able to ride all year round (get real wet some times riding in the PNW).
Last month I sold my 1999 Honda Shadow ACE Tourer and purchased a 2000 Valkyrie Interstate and man am I loving this bike! My wife and I spend a month every summer touring around the US, pulling a trailer and camping. I needed a little more power for these trips and my new Valk is going to fit the bill perfectly. Can't believe how well she handles and her mid range torque is addictive!
Looking forward to meeting real good people with loads of good advice regarding my new girl!
Cheers,
paul
ps. I'll load a photo of my Valk when I figure out how

Welcome to the birdcage. If you are free early in June, there will be a small gathering of fellow Valkyrie addicts in Spearfish, SD. Please see the homepage for all the important details. I can say without reservation, this forum has more collective knowledge about the Big Girl than Mother Honda. Ask and you will be informed by some savvy people.

And opinions are free!  Grin

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. I thought about heading out to South Dakota but I only get Saturday and Sunday off in June and I need two days there and two back. I don't get to choose when my holidays are....they are always July and August. Not complaining about two months off but just can't make it this year.

Holidays?  Are you sure it is not 'vacation' days instead of holidays?  I hear you on the time off.  Between March-June is my best times to get off weeks at a time, but much after July, it is like pulling teeth since the powers to be think if you get a day off July-December, the place will go down in flames or something without me being a small 2-3 person office doing it all.  And yet we trudge on.  Cry

Welcome to the world of Valkyries Paul, glad to have you.  They do get under your skin, just bought my second, picking it up in a week.  Hope buying them does not become too addictive.

Hey Gord,
Thanks for posting a few photos of my beast. I still can't quite figure out how to load them.
I'm still working on getting a little time off to attend the Soap Lake event.....we'll see how that works out.
