How many of us smokers (not me) have tossed cigarette butts out the window of their car? I know it shouldn't bother me much, but pisses me off, littering is littering.
My dad when he was alive, sat outside his house minding his own business in his retirement living right next to the high school. The high schoolers would right in front of him, toss garbage (soda bottles and paper bags, what not) into his yard often knowing full well he was watching them.
Dad, being dad, would bark at them telling them to pick it up, VERY loudly. They would just ignore him and continue on walking. Dad said if he could walk and catch up to them, he would have in his younger years MAKE them pick it up.
I'd be the same way. If only I was there when they did that, I would get the garbage they tossed and stuff it down their baggy _ss pants and telling them to get a belt as well.
I was downtown in Clemson once, lunchtime, summer day, streets crowded with
pedestrians and cars, everything inching along at walking speed. A passenger
in a convertible full of frat-boys dropped a Big Gulp cup filled with ice and coke
into the gutter right where I was walking. The speeds were such that I was able
to pick up the cup, still full, and hand it back to the passenger who tossed it.
With a smile: "You dropped something"...
