My riding buddy rides a Harley.    We  decided to do a Houston to Fredricksburg Hill Country ride to ride the 3 Twisted Sisters up around Leakey area.   Wives wanted to go this trip and they can't ride long distance so we trailered to Fredricksburg.    Got up Saturday Morning and off we go.   5 minutes into the take off and the Harley crapped out.   We started calling dealers in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, and Kerrville.  The Harley will crank when cold and run good for about 3 minutes then it will die and there is no spark to the plugs.   3 dealers  said it was the coil.  They called around and found the nearest coil to us that will fit his bike is in Odessa, Tx........300 miles away.  We are desperate to salvage the trip and take off in my truck and do a 600 mile round trip run to Odessa and get the coil and come back to camp and put it on......doesn't work.   Next guess is the cam shaft sensor......aint one available any where .....so Sunday night we go to Lukenbach and had an enjoyable evening.  Monday packed up and came home .   You win some...you loose some.

Sorry the trip didn't go right, I love that whole area... Been too long since I've been there, need to figure out a way to get back down there myself soon...

Bummer brother.  When we were riding from the GOTF to west Texas through the hill country in the truck to P/U the brother whose U-Joint had given up the ghost last time I was in - that was the first time I had really gotten to see the hill country around Kerrville - sure LOOKED AWESOME.  I have got to get over there and ride it - I mean it was REALLY AWESOME looking.  That was the great thing about that ride in the truck (besides the fellowship with my brothers) was we sure passed through some pretty country out there. cooldude
