"When You're Dead, Your Bank Account Goes to Zero"

Livin' Better Side of The Great Divide

« on: April 29, 2015, 10:06:38 AM »

Jack Ely, the lead singer of the Kingsmen, has died at age 71 in Oregon.

A great one-hit-wonder from the Kingsmen (right up there with ? and the Mysterians' "96 Tears").      How many discussions did that song start on the corner as to what lyrics he really used?

Three chord arrangements with backbeat.

Simple songs from a simpler time. Cool

Two of my bands played this song from 1963 to 1967.  ... still love the 3 or 4-chord songs.  You're right, it was a simpler time.

Wow!  There are a lot of singers leaving us this year......Little Jimmy Dickens, Lesley Gore, Percy Sledge, Ben E. King.  Understand B.B. King is in a Las Vegas hospice too.   Sad Sad
