I know, I think too much and often over think things. First I truly don’t understand the reasoning behind it, I am not say it is right or wrong in any way, and I am not trying to knock the wind out of anyone sails, or steal anyone’s thunder. Not judging in any way, need I say more? I just don’t understand the reason behind it. OK! To the point, a guy I go to coffee with often goes with his wife to places and he always shows me these pictures of where they have been. In respect, I look at them, and In the back of my head I ask myself, how does the concern me. I understand that they mean something to them, but it has no point or meaning to me. Thinking!!! Once in a while OK. So is he trying to prove to me he was there and maybe, thinks I don’t believe him? I notice in our board, and when some people reply to a subject, there may be a one line, to a reply. And they have a huge pic of their bike on every reply, I realize that people are proud of their bike, but it gives me the impression of flaunting it. The other, is people on this board that submit pictures of their rides, they or their bike, may be standing next to, may be a sign or an object, what does that mean when they show it. I AM NOT SAYING IT IS WRONG. I am just saying what is the point and what are the people, trying to project or say by the pics. Understand, that the job I retired from, I was a Photographer/Proto Type Model Maker, so I have some knowledge of it, I just don’t understand peoples motives behind it. I am trying to understand, and may be open up some new outlook. Everything in life is done for a reason, everything in life is logical, otherwise it wouldn't exist, I try and figure out why!!!

I wouild say, "Look at me. I'm opening my world to you and I want to share the adventure with you". Not as a brag, we cant all live by the tail of the Dragon, but as a family thing. Brotherly love. As long as they post the obligatory lunch photo,,,all's well.

Some do as a "pride of ownership" thing. And there is nothing wrong with that.
Some do it as a form of a brag. That is not the coolest thing to do.
Some do it as an art form. That works for me, I kinda like it.
Some do it because others have and they liked it. Sorta returning the favor, that is good.
It is not so much what they do as it is why they do it. Usually you have to figure out which it is.

You need to watch (without interruption and bathroom breaks) every episode of the original "Star Trek" and then decide which character is the one which Gene Roddenberry intended to be the protagonist of the series, Spock or Kirk? That will give you your answer, grasshopper.

The metaphysical implications and accompanying messages in both shows certainly validates my usage.

Dude, this is a Valkyrie forum........some of us actually post Valkyrie pictures. All are a little different, but all are essentially naked. What's not to like? This is not a complex idea. Now if you were asking about baby pictures, I would understand. Hey, that looks like a baby (they all look the same).

It's a message board. Its function is sharing. Some do share with what seems to be bragging.
I don't personally like large pictures of any kind in the signature line but it has nothing to do with bragging or whether it's a good picture. It has to do with causing readers to do a lot more scrolling down than they should need to to read what has been contributed in the thread.

When I show pictures of my ride (bike) or rides (where I have gone, it is almost always to my biking friends. When I shoe them it is almost always to give them ideas, and sometimes even maps so they (if they want) can make that same ride and hopefully enjoy it as much as I did.
And if you tool a great ride, I would want you to do the same as I did for you. If we cant make the ride because you are East End of our country and I am west end, we can at least live your ride vicariously through your pictures.
Hope that helps.

You worry too much about little stuff. It must be a bitch when you have a real problem You make a really good point there!! You see: snake bites are little, viruses are little, bullets are little, kidney stones are little, and need I go on, we know how they generally end up!! I pay attention to the little problem and meet those head on, that is why I don’t have to worry about major problems, and they get taken care of before they can start. Don't get the impression that I think your Pics. are wrong, I just say I don't understand the reasoning of the persons intentions.

That explains it. I would be tired of pictures if all I did for work was take them and look at them. I have a pretty good imagination and dont really need pictures to see what your talking about. And the picture in my head I can guarantee is better than a real picture taken from a camera. There is usually a secretary from one of Oss' auditions in them.

My answer is simple the board allows you to put a picture in you signature line. I happen to like looking at my bike. I didn't put it there to brag or anything of the sort. If it offends anyone sorry get over it. Also as a member said here before if you can get off your bike and walk away without looking back you are riding the wrong bike

Simple answer is: If you don't like it, don't look!
That can apply to a lot of things, the way peope dress, the color of their vehicle, whatever. If you don't care to look at the photos, don't.
It's rare that I look at the pics, I just scrol on by. And sometimes I have to close the thread before the photos load in order to save data usage. It is what it is.
Photos posted here I can easily skip. It's the rare time that someone wants to show everyone in the chat room their vacation pics that I have a problem ... one solved by leaving.
But I'm not going to waste my time trying to figure out why the pics were posted.

When I scroll through the threads, The pics let me know who I'm talking to. I could not begin to tell you what John Schmidt, BF, Bighead, Jess Toilbert, SmokinJoe, etc. look like, but I can spot their posts because I recognize their bikes.
