with this series of .22 pistols.  I bought the fluted barrel version last Fall and added a couple of more just recently.  Anyone else hooked on the Lites?

For a target gun, I prefer full size/weight (though I like the 5.5" over longer bbls), and I am not a fan of Buck Rogers looks/colors.

I like the regular target 22/45, but wish I had looked closer at the integral frame grip on the cheaper models, because I like the idea of sticking these on after it comes home.

Here's my fluted bbl.

Personally, I think this is a cool Ruger product (I would REALLY like to see it in WMR).

I bought one of those Chargers but modified it almost immediately installing a Kidd SS bull target barrel, Kidd 2 stage trigger and plopping it in an Archangel stock.

I looked very closely at one of those newer Rugers as a host for my silencers once they get out of NFA Prison, but in the end I went with a GSG 1911 22 instead. It was less money and more to my tastes...

(GSG makes the Kimber 1911-22, the guns are 100% identical except the Kimber has "Kimber" written on it and runs about $100 more.)

Really nice stuff there RWS.   cooldude

I like my .22 pistols, but tend to reach for a .22 rifle when I need to hit something.  I have an old minty 10/22 18.5"bbl Sporter with straight 4X scope that has done everything I ever needed.  But I have been eyeballing the new generation of tacticool .22s by Ruger, GSG MP5, H & K, Colt, S & W, real AR15 dedicated .22 uppers (not conversions), and the Magnum Research upgraded style 10-22s.  I also like some of the CZ .22 bolt rifles (455 American).  I cannot make up my mind (and keep thinking, what does that do that my current 10/22 doesn't do, except look different?), but am in no hurry and keep watching my local gun boards and articles and reviews.

The Magnum Research (maybe in 22 magnum) are intriguing.

I've got a few .22 rifles too

Ruger 10/22T

Ruger 10/22 carbine

Ruger American Rimfire .22

Ruger 10/22 50'th Anniversary with suppressor

10/22 with Feddersen heavy match barrel, Volkquartsen trigger group mounted in a Nordic Arms chassis

Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 with suppressor

...and plenty of .22 ammo to feed these guns  Cheesy

I also bought a 22/45 Lite. Liked the idea of getting a complete "45." for the cost of a .22 conversion for my 45. auto.

But I had the front site come loose on my first box of ammo. Noticed it before it fell off. But since I haven't shot in over a couple of years, I haven't gotten around to fixing it. Ruger suggested I take a tooth pick, and dip it into a drop of locktite, dap it on the thread and wait till it dries. Then screw it back in.

I had the same thing happen on my 22/45 fluted barrel.   Plus the scope rail filler plugs were loose so I loctited them and all is good.

RWS, I may be worthy in other areas, but in .22s I am definitely not worthy.

So what's your favorite one (rifle)?

The 10/22 carbine pic reminds me that Ruger designed the 10/22 to be the "little brother" of the .44mag carbine - looks almost identical - my first new and purpose-built deer rifle I bought maybe 35 years ago - a great whitetail swamp gun.  Put a 240grJHP .44mag  at 1750fps in a whitetail's boiler-room and he goes down RIGHT NOW.  This rifle has been out of production for years - but still one of my favorite woods rifles.  Used to carry the carbine along with my accurized Super Blackhawk hogleg in the same caliber - and decide which to use when the deer approached my stand in the swamp.  Deer off to my right or back - it's the hogleg.  80 yds plus or to my front - the carbine.

I keep my eye out for those old .44 rotary mag Rugers, and you see them once in a while, but man the price has gone up.

So I did this. (M1894)

Also to match up with this. (three screw, happily unconverted)

Then later, I could not pass this up to complete the set.

Though I probably should have.

all you guys are scaring the crap out of me on these fancy .22's.

I'd hate to see what you do with a bigger caliber gun.   Shocked

Jess, just FYI the Ruger .44 auto carbine looks like the rotary mag 10/22, but it's a tube mag under the barrel - loads from underneath like a shotty.  4+1, gas operated.  BTW I recently picked up a Henry 45-70Govt, looks pretty similar to your Marlin but with 18" barrel.  The loading is old school, from the front - like the original Henry before it became Winchester.  Fit & finish, very nice.  4+1 (but 5 fit), it's a big cartridge. With 405gr .45cal slug, has 3750ft/lbs energy, 900 more than .30-06.  Suitable for the biggest, dangerous North American game - grizzly, buffalo, moose. In a classic lever gun. Or use 300gr for flatter trajectory - max point blank range of 165yds.  Interestingly, the history on it claimed it was used with lethal range out to 3500 yds, back in the day (circa 1873).  Can't imagine that, with it's rainbow trajectory compared to modern rifles.  Have to use a ladder sight and know the range.  Like Matthew Quigley.  I believe his rifle was a 45-110.

I did not know that, always wondered how they fit in a rotary.

not true....the 1911 .22 LR pistols and the .22 conversion kits are made in house at Kimber

you can verify by calling Kimber at 888-243-4522

My apologies, the GSG 1911 is the same as the Sig Sauer 1911 22, not the Kimber, my mistake.
