Yep, to each their own. I have a hard time understanding why any motorcyclist would turn away from twisted roads, but hey, that's what makes the world go 'round I guess. Cheesy

I live for the most crooked roads I can find. cooldude

I wish we had roads like that here in southeast SoDak everywhere is flat and straight other than a couple of curves where you cross the state line into MN. Cry  Looking forward to throwing the old girl thru a few bends in the black hills next week!!  Grin

which rd from yankton to winner?
50 outta Vermillion/Yankton and then it turns into 18 in Wagner (I believe) to Winner. 44 from Winner to Rapid City is nice also. Lotta curves and hills and hits the Badlands. Only way I go as its shorter and just as fast as I-90.

Here's a fun one for all you left coasters.

The old 666, which was renamed in the early 90's due to all the road signs being stolen.
I know a few folks who won't ride/drive it; like a guy at work on an ST1100 who calls it "boring"  Roll Eyes.  Then again, he's looking at switching to a Harley  ???.

IMHO, best road in the world.

I've ridden it prolly 50 times in the last 10 years. A few years ago we rode it twice in one day; departed from Alpine headed south, and once at the "bottom", the river at the "Mines of Morenci" were about 6" from cresting the bridge road, necessitating closing the flood doors to the town.  Had to ride it again back to Alpine - turned into a 400 mile detour to get home... Shocked

Different reviews count different curves, but a few years ago wifey and I tried to count them. We lost track at about 650.

The road starts in desert, goes thru the largest open pit mine in the country, then climbs almost 5000 feet to Alpine.  No traffic, lots of curves, some 80mph, some 5 mph.  Few guardrails, no cell phone coverage.  Lots of big valley and mountain views.  Occasional debris from streams crossing the road to keep you honest.  Have seen cows on the "wrong" side of the fence, mountain goats maybe every other trip, and once a massive swarm of giant grasshoppers (2-2.5") on the move crossing the road.  Greasy sob's... Grin

In all the times I have ridden this, max was maybe passing a dozen cars in 90 odd miles -that's counting both directions.  Oddly enough, not that many bikes.  Been passed by a couple crotch rockets... and have passed a bunch of Harleys running at flank speed... angel

A lass. I would just enjoy a little rise in the road down here. For those who don't like those roads.  I recommend Hw 31 from Ft Myers Shores to Arcadia. I believe 34 miles  as the arrow flies. No stops. There may be a slight curve after 30 miles going North. I've hit 110 MPH out of bordom on that stretch with my VTX. Several weeks ago running 65 behind a car with my new bike I cracked the throttle full open for the first time reached an even 100 by the time I got in front of him.  Love this bike. Kind of like the desert roads out west. Nice road to stretch your legs. I guess for a rise in the road around here I will have to run  19 over Tampa Bay Sky Bridge. I would  sure love to try the Tail of The Dragon looks like my kind of drive. Love to try those mountains as well. I guess north Fla has some nice hills as does the panhandle area. Nothing like the west though.

Did the Dragon last Wednesday with friends. Had my goldwong with sidecar, with wife in it. I don't think they have bad any bad roads there in the mountains of TN and NC.
